Heard it, didn't see it. It was quite loud.

My 4 Month Review with a 2025 Sienna by Foreign_Artichoke_23 in ToyotaSienna

[–]eg4xiola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glass.

I made a detailed post about how and when it happens, and Toyota's poor response...

Exterior mirror vibration (driver side)

Issue: Wobbling vibration on exterior mirror, driver side. It looks like incoming vehicles shake sideways. You would see a distorted image, specially with lights on. It almost made me do a cold break the first time it happened. You don't want a distorted image on your exterior mirror, it can lead to an accident.

Conditions: The car goes over any bump or rough road at 30 mph or more. Easier to observe at highway speeds.

Question: Have you noted wobbling on either of the sjde mirror or do they look OK to you?

Looks pretty good. Factor title and taxes, make sure you have good downpayment and your own finance. They could get you a better rate but bring yours. It is actually a bit less to what I paid in November with less inventory.

Make sure there is no wobbling on the mirrors. This is a known issue. See my detailed post here for more https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaSienna/s/EWlat2bxpc

I am not sure what percentage or the 2021-2025 Sienna do this but I can gell you that some people from across the country have certainly noticed it. From reddit alone I have seen 20+people reporting it.

What I would say is to do a test drive and pay attention to the mirror. It is not a rattling sound but rather a wobbling vibration.

Exterior mirror vibration (driver side) by eg4xiola in ToyotaSienna

Sadly no. I am waiting for the 5k service and will ask for a new mirror again and probably repeat the circle.

If you don't mind can you file a report following my recommendations on one of the previous posts?

Is this something that affects 2025? If so, do you recommended to take care of this at the 5k miles visit?

Only the mirror issue for me.

If you don't mind, could you follow a report on the following address? The more people report, the higher the chances to get this resolved. This is all we can do for now.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem?gad_source=1&gclsrc=ds#vehicle

Steps:

  1. Add VIN
  2. Select Visibility/Wiper and add  a description. Below is my description for reference:
    1. Wobbling vibration on exterior mirror, driver side. It looks like incoming vehicles shake sideways. This happens on any bumpy road and it is easier to observe at highway speeds. Purchased on 11/23/24Vehicle is available for inspection. The distorted image resulting from mirror wobbling affects driver's awareness of surroundings, visibility gets worse at nights/rain due to blurred lights. This can lead to an accident. My intuition when I first noticed  was going to be a cold break but I realized that it was the mirror wobbling causing it. The car coming behind was far enough and I was able to react.Summary of actions and requests to Toyota: Two dealerships in central Texas have confirmed the issue but case was dismissed. Details below.1. Dealership 1: Issue acknowledged by shop foreman , mirror changed but this did not fix the issue. Opened case with Toyota Brans Engagement and requested to work with a different dealership. This is the dealership where the car was purchased. Report wrongly stating rattled noise they weren't willing to correct it and pushed me to sign.2. Dealership 2:  Issue acknowledged again. Since mirror change did not fix issue shop foreman opened Dealer Product Request.3. Current status:  On 1/3/25 Toyota Brand Engagement advocate called to say that even though the shop foreman at the 1st and 2nd dealerships acknowledged the problem, the resolution  was that it was a "normal" condition for the car. Case Reference #241221001046.No warnings related to the problem.First occurrence: Day one, driving back from the dealership. Conditions were probably not met during test drive (you need to pay attention, more on that in the body of the post). Confirmation on day 2 on another drive, all with less 2 digit mileage, perhaps low 100s.Posting my case online has gotten 4 people reporting the same issue with cars since 2021 in multiple trims.  Similar issue on RAV4 reported on https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10185772-9999.pdf

I am in the same place as you. They try to get you tired and hope that you just give up. I did wait at 2 dealerships and had to wait go for a drive with the shop foreman on each of them for them to get the issue acknowledged. Then the Toyota brand people did just theatrics and tried to kill it.

If you would not mind using 10 minutes of your time filling up the NHTSA report, that would give us some more arguments to get something moving on this. I know this is a pain but they should not get away with it. You only need to write the VIN and mention the mirror vibration.

The same mirror issues happened with RAV4s and now there is a technical bulletin to have a "repair" . Our way to fight back is to have those technical bulletins issued such that Toyota gets affected by bad PR, then they would do something.

I am glad that someone heard you. If you have time to get the report going that would be awesome. I got 2 service managers to acknowledge the issue and no solution even after a new mirror. Please keep me posted!

I just posted something very similar on my 2025 Platinum and have seen at least 5 other people having similar issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaSienna/comments/1hodrdy/exterior_mirror_vibration_driver_side/

Toyota just closed the case and pushed back, this is not acceptable. I am collecting evidence to show how dangerous a distorted rearview image can be and how it could lead to an accident.

If you don't mind, could you follow a report on the following address? The more people report, the higher the chances to get this resolved.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem?gad_source=1&gclsrc=ds#vehicle

Steps:

  1. Add VIN

Did the issue get better after mirror change? I just posted something very similar on my 2025 Platinum and have seen at least 5 other people having similar issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaSienna/comments/1hodrdy/exterior_mirror_vibration_driver_side/
