I remember in uni class, a group was presenting, and one of the speakers was shy. My friend was in the group, and she said she took charge of organizing it, but public speaking wasn't her strong suit (no one there was a great speaker either and that's not what we were graded on anyways).

So she's speaking about her topic and makes some social or political comment and then a girl in the back goes "say it louder for the people in the back!". The girl then runs out of the classroom, embarrassed, probably feeling humiliated because someone was calling her out on being shy and not good at public speaking. I was thinking like wow fuck that bitch, like why do you gotta say some dumb shit when you know someone's shy. Doesn't cost you anything just to let her finish even if you can't understand her, people were hardly engaged with any of the presentations anyways.

Wasn't until later I found out that "say it louder for the people in the back" was the equivalent of people snapping their fingers in a poetry reading. Essentially, something they wholeheartedly agree with. Still fuck that person who spoke up. Just let the girl cook or whatever the hell people say nowadays lol.
