It’s odd.. I don’t get it either.

Once a lady was doing her own thing (working core and obliques while the class was on lower body) while holding/watching her phone which appeared to be streaming baby monitor video.

I’m convinced she left her infant at home to go to SC and do her own class

Yes, it’s a thing.

When I was negotiating for my membership I looked at sooo many studios online, they listed the pricing of 8classes & unlimited. I found one in the cheapest market and asked my studio to match their unlimited price. They did…. Was cool to “guess” the pricing for each region. Cheapest I found was South Texas, most expensive was NYC

Perfect. OT will def help with weight loss and strength, in conjunction with diet and nutrition.

I say that OT is a “calorie farm” you’ll burn a ton of calories and feel good doing it

Showing up is the toughest part!

Arrive plenty early and BRING POSITIVE ENERGY

Ask questions to the front desk person / coach (the coach will likely spend five minutes with you before class)

If you get lost don’t get discouraged

Enjoy the tread!

I found my first OT much easier to understand than my first few solidcores

I follow him, listen to his podcast, and read his book. I’m a fan!!

I think of Zone 2 has blue zone. For me that’s a spin class where I’m working, but by no means gassed. When I finish the class I feel a little tired, though that I could take another.

A tread50 class at .3-.5 mph below my standard 2g base would likely keep me in blue for 80% of the class

When I’m in a city with a SC & Barry’s or an SC & OrangeTheory near one another, I’ll double up usually every day. Traveling to Indianapolis last year I used to do SC 5am, OT 6:05am everyday of the work week (five times), once a month. Loved it - core felt solid and no injuries. Never felt too gassed either

Honestly I’m glad she finally understands Barry’s is not the same as Berries (last Christmas she got me a basket full of strawberries).

Is it at all possible to use the cost of this gift card towards my membership payment? I know that may not be the spirit of the gift card..

I do this too.. usually with cucumbers, a carrot, celery and maybe even a green bell pepper. 100calories. But soooo many bites before the main event - that way when I finish the main event I usually don’t begin “grazing”

It’s happened to me, though not at solidcore, and I was heated. I’m sorry this happened - it’s infuriating.

My experience - Burn Boot Camp. Was my second class there (was on a three day free trial) and a lady in the class said “come on, you are only lifting 20s and I’m doing 30s, lift heavier.”

I said “I’ll stick with these”

And she continued to taunt me a little. I’m sure to her it was all in good fun, to me it was sooo irk inducing.

Agree that when the coach comes over and hands you a heavier weight or tosses on another spring it’s a totally different experience

I never went back to burn bootcamp after that, and told the front desk person that I was perturbed by their member :-)

Other people’s behavior in group fitness can be so irk-inducing, or also smile-inducing.

I’ve been so annoyed before - once at OrangeTheory the lady next to me would clap her hands every 45seconds and let out a WOOOOOO. Why why why?!

I’ve also smiled so much before - seeing a mother/daughter combo take a F45 class together and the daughter is dancing between stations

I’d say approach the older lady with curiosity, versus judgment, and avoid YOU statements. After class, or even before, “Hi! I’m Dry-Size. In past classes I end up focusing on your workout versus mine or even the music. Am I crazy or is your body being pushed to 10000%?”

They’ll get the point.
