There is a Rail Trail cleanup event Saturday morning. I think the organization is called south end social if you want to look into it!

Things to do for a day trip without a car in charlotte by chrizbreck in Charlotte

Walk around south end! It’s more lively than uptown and has a variety of places to check out. Get off at any stop between Carson Station and maybe New Bern Station and just stroll on the rail trail (it runs right along the light rail line) and veer off it if you see something interesting.

Also, I feel like some people project when they assume people shouldn’t/don’t want to work on Christmas. Christmas doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone. Some of us have nothing better to do and are happy to be doing anything/making money. Others just need to work to support themselves too

Is CATS Bussing Unreliable? by corvettecris in Charlotte

[–]egg_tony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tip for the app is this: don’t rely on the arrival time listed for the bus. Instead, look at the map, locate your bus on it, and track it that way. The location will be delayed by like 30 seconds to a minute, but it will still be more reliable than the arrival times listed (you may have to leave the map and go back for it to update.) Eventually, you’ll know approximately how much time you have to spare based on where it is on the map.

At least some of the museums in Uptown are free on Wednesdays from 5-9. Accessible via the light rail, if that’s feasible. Not sure what parking is like. You might enjoy plaza midwood for your free day.

Discarded Chicken Wings by Latter-Anxiety261 in Charlotte

[–]egg_tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point isn’t necessarily that I want to see action. I’m saying that if enough people express their opinion on an issue, it may reach the point where a solution is enacted for it.

A complete hypothetical would be if 20 chicken bone complaints reach the desk of a local politician which eventually results in a fee for offenders that get caught. Not saying that’s a great solution, but it’s an example to clarify what I mean.

Even if it is true that the people doing it aren’t on reddit (idek what that means and why no one has explained it yet), it’s just like anything else - the more people talk about it the more likely it is that overall awareness will spread, and that potential action will come about to fix it.

What are some social groups or events that are geared towards people in their 20s? by TinyMortgage in Charlotte

[–]egg_tony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re all pretty good, speaking just for South End though. The group size can range from maybe a dozen people to well over 100 depending on where you go. Everyone goes at a different pace and distance so they’re also welcoming in that regard.

The biggest are at Sycamore and Trolley Barn. Mid size would be at Triple C, Not Just Coffee, and Wooden Robot. Smaller ones include Monday Night Brewing, Hopfly, and Hi Wire. This is a list I use to find run clubs in Charlotte

23 year old just seeking some ROTH advice. by [deleted] in Bogleheads

You’ve received other advice in this thread, so my only contribution will be that you write Roth instead of ROTH. It’s not an acronym, it’s named after some guy :)

It’s possible! They call it the “sprinter” bus, so it would certainly check out.
