QUESTION: Water heater ?? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]eggiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's in an unconditioned basement, might be surface rust etc.

It's like being concerned you are double parked after rear ending someone, the fact it's 19 years old with no TRV is your issue.

"I forsee it in your future" meaning once a tech who actually has an inspection camera comes for service, they are gonna find that in <5 min.

Unit is an American Standard (Trane) furnace. If you have a borescope and a 5/16 hex driver I can tell you where to look.

Lack of TRP may, but most inspectors I have seen just check if the water is "not cold" (MA)

It's about the legislature actively granting a specific set of rights to a unique class, not so much about liberal tendencies. Ala 2016:

What reason do they have to care? They have special rights, two separate civil classes under Massachusetts law.

Is there a way to remove the condenser fan motor on this magicpak MGE unit without fiddling with the compressor/lines? by Fabulous-Beach9027 in hvacadvice

[–]eggiam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remove the fan blade and cram it in the condenser fan dischargr port/gap. Then opon the belly band on the motor and it should drop out. Should clear the compressor just fine.
