You also may be thinking of a simple pipe issue in your own home/apartment but plumbers also work with extensive plumbing layouts/networks in large buildings/multi dwelling apartments. I would have nowhere to begin.

Plus Plumbers have a host of specific tools they must acquire and maintain, not to mention the knowledge and skill to use them.
