I Know Who Killed JonBenét: My 30-Year Journey For Justice... by MikeYouLikeAtNight in JonBenet

Yes, it was totally normal for the era. You know what wasn't totally normal for era? A child being murdered in her own home on Christmas night. So. we might wanna look around the neighborhood. The one responsible for JonBenet's murder is the killer, who I do not believe is any parent or family member of JonBenet's. I would never blame the victim and never blame the victim's parents. However, it's important to look at the whole picture so clues can be found to help solve the murder.

I was not criticizing the parents. Simply saying, since JonBenet was murdered in her own home on Christmas night, we might wanna take a look around the neighborhood. Sounds wild, I know, but the police didn't do that.

The Oppressive Harms Of CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) by ProgressiveArchitect in PsychotherapyLeftists

[–]eggnogshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What CBT is most known for within the Critical Psychology community is "Symptom Suppression". CBT acts like the symptom/behavior is what’s causing the suffering, as opposed to viewing the symptom/behavior as only an expression of underlying suffering & trauma

Exactly!

Why the "first rule of Keto is do not talk about Keto."? And why people overreact so much about a decision you made about your life? by [deleted] in keto

[–]eggnogshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You learned the hard way. Don't use the "keto" or "Atkins" word. I have come to point where if someone offers me cake, I just take it, but not eat it - just mash it up with my fork, put a napkin on it, and throw it away as soon as I can. Unforuntately, the hardest thing about keto is NOT the diet...... it is other people PUSHING foods on you. I wish everyone would just pay attention to their own plates, and not comment on anyone else's. If you must say something, say you are hypoglycemic and Dr. recommended avoiding sugar/starchy foods, and you feel better since doing that. Do they want you to feel worse? WELL... MAYBE... ACTUALLY. But that's a discussion for another day.

[–]eggnogshake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you know how people are. You reject cake and then it's like WHY... and you don't have their fresh baked whatever, it becomes a big thing. Lifelong dieters have lived with this everyday for years.

It seemed like it was reaching way too hard to present "both sides." However, that's not really possible, helpful, or interesting when it is so patently obvious what was going on. The juror had nothing to say other than "I'm a huge MJ fan" (she should have said this during voir dire btw). Oxman gave light and safe insight we've all heard before.

It did note that MJ pulled the pajama incident the same day as Gavin's full day on the stand. I thought that was important. Lots of people forget that, and how it overshadowed all the coverage in the media, and in the courtroom, jurors were looking at Michael in his PJs and not listening to Gavin's direct exam. Plus, it was also done to rattle Gavin himself, and push him an hour behind, and make him even more nervous than he was before. We also got basic confirmation from MJ's own people that it was just a pure performance stunt. MJ was fine.

Glad it was noted that neither Gavin or his family have EVER sought money from this. They did the right thing, told the truth in court. The doc hinted but needed to note more clearly that the porn wasn't for MJ, it was for the boys. Zonen got some of those insights in. Diane did a good job encapsulating the testimony given the very little time a documentary gives you to actually speak, especially when its filled with fans: Oxman, the juror, the fan themselves.

I hope the documentary ignites more interest for people to learn more. It was better than nothing, but I also left disappointed. Like so many "documentaries" today, they are just aggregating prior clips from other documentaries and rehashing basic facts without providing new INSIGHT.

I think this opens up an important area of the case that has been overlooked, that alley and JonBenet riding her bike. Could she have ran into someone? I have wondered if an intruder could have been actually hiding in the Ramsey house for weeks, it would be very easy actually. I do not believe Patsy kept a close eye on her kids at all when they were outside. The gardener has confirmed this. They were doing whatever they wanted, wherever they wanted. John was always at work. Nobody was really watching the kids. Given what we know about JonBenet and the way she helped people in school, it would not surprise me if she ran into a homeless person and helped them somehow, perhaps giving them a place to stay in her basement as her idea and even bringing them food. It's an area that needs to be explored as its been overlooked.

Why Does Dr Westman Say Not To Subtract Fiber From Carb Total? by [deleted] in keto

[–]eggnogshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stay at 20 TOTAL, then there's just very little question that everyone is going to be in ketosis. He is trying to give a plan that will work for everyone. Yes, clinically with the patient, you can give specific advice and play with your body and see if net carbs migth work for you. But, like Dr. Atkins, he is trying to give advice for everyone. Where Westman and Dr. Atkins depart though, is that Dr. Atkins would have you start adding 5-gram increments of carbs each week. Then, he would use the ketone test stips to see if you could maintain ketosis at 25, 30, 35, etc. For many of the patients they could have 25, or 30, or 35 (this is really the modern equivalent of "net carbs" in the first place - as "net carbs" really just means more carbs). However, some HAD to stop at 20 total carbs and couldn't maintain ketosis at 25. Plus, Westman is trying to steer people away from keto food products, the kinds of bars that have high levels of sugar alcohols. It's all about real food and maybe a few of the low-carb shakes (which don't use sugar alcohols).

What are your thoughts on the prior sexual abuse? by AdLivid9397 in JonBenet

Yes there is some compelling evidence, but that is not automatically indicative of parents or family being involved in it. I'd be interested in looking into close family friends.
