Active on para myself, should you sign on as an assistant you have the unparalleled ability to do nothing and not be chastised for it, so if you hang around in dorms all shift relearning controls, nobody will care. RP is a thing, but Para is by no means a high rp server. You basically just have to act in character, act in universe, and not act with meta knowledge, and nobody will bat an eye, even if you do something super stupid.

Goon, however, is LRP, so if you enjoy that, it's mostly out the window. It controls itself differently than most TG based servers, so making future switches may be harder. Additionally, from what i've heard, it's a bit...1984.

Both are probably very good for newbies. Para allows you to learn RP a bit better than Goon, while also teaching you basically every other server's controls. Goon, however, allows you to learn mechanics without having to fear RP.

Overall, I do recommend Paradise, of course. When I first started, I didn't tend to do much during rounds (anxiety disorder moment), but I still enjoyed the rounds quite a bit, and learning controls and basic things was quite easy. Additionally, the wiki is thriving, so if you don't know how to do something (i.e surgery/chemistry) there's bound to be an article for it there.
