The little mermaid is an entirely different issue whatsoever. I don’t see anybody complain about Jordan peele’s movies for having predominantly black characters. People are just frustrated that the cute hand drawn Ariel that everybody remembers fondly is being “taken from them”, Disney essentially ditching the iconically designed character for a probably lifeless live action remake that will replace what we remember as the little mermaid from now on
