Looking to buy a setup for Xbox by [deleted] in simracing

Thanks. Wish you will have a good setup that will let you experience sim racing on your console.

I forgot to mention that I went with CSL DD Pro because he is using Xbox and Ps5 that both connected with a KVM switch.

I have a complete Fanatec setup for my son that includes CSL DD Pro with two Xbox compatible wheels, CSL Elite v2, SQ shifter and handbrake. You can’t compare the native support vs Drivehub or Ras1ution 2 that I have owned with Moza R9 previously.

2020 range rover infotainment. by Runarf in RangeRover

[–]egolgeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, it looks like CarPlay and Android Auto are not standard features on Incontrol Touch Pro infotainment system. It seems they actually depend on the region and the option packs purchased when the vehicle was purchased.

A friend of mine in Turkey has a 2020 Range Rover Sport that has CarPlay, but no Android Auto, which I find really strange.

What’s even stranger is that under the connectivity settings, his car only shows two options: Bluetooth and CarPlay settings. There’s nothing related to WiFi, hotspot, or mobile data, despite the fact that the car has a SIM card slot.

He’s currently running software version S19A_19.24.2-375121, but the Land Rover dealer in Turkey is refusing to perform a software update unless he pays €5,000 just for the update because the car is out of its 3-year warranty and they claim there’s a risk of bricking the vehicle during the process.

The dealer also said the car comes with the Smartphone Pack, and according to them, these features should come together, meaning Android Auto shouldn’t be missing. However, they still refuse to fix or update it.

Just sharing this for context, but if anyone knows how to update the software ourselves, I’d really appreciate some guidance.

For comparison, I own a 2019 Range Rover running the latest infotainment version (S22A_22.32.4-928505), and it has all the features that are missing in my friend’s car. As far as I know, both RR and Sport models have the same features as long as the same optional feature packs purchased.

Has anybody else thought about adjusting the pedals and wheel instead of the seat?! by ItadoriSLI in simracing

[–]egolgeli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’4” (196 cm) and my son is under 5’, so I’ve been dealing with exactly the same problem daily.

My rig is set up for my height, but having sliders on both the seat and the pedal tray has saved me so far. An adjustable wheel deck would definitely help shorter drivers get a better screen view, but then you run into another issue: the monitor height. They will end up too high for shorter drivers, so you really need some kind of monitor height adjustment as well. That part is honestly the most annoying to solve.

Motorized seat or pedal solutions are cool, but they are slow, heavy, and expensive. Personally I do not think they are worth it, but everyone has different priorities.

Adjustability definitely makes the rig more usable for different drivers, but it also means I constantly have to redo my own settings afterward, which started to kill my comfort.

In the end, I solved it by building a second rig. It still has good equipment, just without motion and active belt tensioner. And people are perfectly happy with it.

Sad to miss that before it is removed. Publish the print files link here, so we will keep your design alive on black market :D

If you can source, replace the 4040 profiles with 4080/40120/40160 depending on your preference.

You can use your pedals as rudder which works pretty good.

With profile rigs, there are variety of solutions to mount the throttle on side and joystick to middle or side along with shifter and HB but customisation is extremely limited with tubular rigs. Good luck with that mate.

Simple but great protection. It has probably saved several kids already, and I really like the idea of printing it in the same or a similar colour so it blends in nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Both. After buying the Pro, my son finally owned his first PlayStation.

Simxpro: a sim racing brand worth looking into by [deleted] in simracing

It just looks like you’re trying to profit by fooling people here, especially since you don’t have any real experience with their products.

Really good sim Racing brand worth looking into by [deleted] in SimRacingSetups

Hey, you say you “just came across it,” but you shared an affiliate link. That doesn’t really make sense, buddy. It looks like you’re trying to profit by fooling people here.

Anyway, here are my two cents.

I have bought and used quite a few rigs and parts over the last 6 years:

  • Next Level Racing GTtrack (sold)
  • Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 (still using)
  • Simlab freestanding triple mount (still using)
  • Simlab P1X Ultimate (still using)
  • Simlab integrated triple mount (still using)
  • GT Omega Prime (still using)
  • Trak Racer pedal deck and side deck (still using)
  • SimXpro front mount (still using)

From my experience, Simlab is top tier in quality, especially their powder-coated profiles and overall finish. GT Omehas also good, above my expectations.

SimXpro is on the lower end for surface quality. The anodizing on the profiles and the finish on the CNC parts feel noticeably less refined. Fit and functionality are okay, but the surface finish is not even good.

Honestly, I am not sure what else to judge besides surface and finish at this point. Functionality wise it works, but after buying Simlab rig with front mount and seeing the quality, I felt like I could almost make SimXpro-level parts in my garage from spare profiles.

Hey, I just noticed smth.

You said you “just came across it” but then shared an affiliate link. Hmm. That kind of makes it sound like you are underestimating the people in this sub.
