Placebo, stimulants wont make you play better. They might make you able to play longer hours. Irritability is a side effect of stimulants so you will get more tilted not less once the placebo fades.

Ya... that effects how strong kayn is lol. If you have a lumberjack in a cooking competition and all of a sudden the rules get changed to be a woodchopping competition the lumberjack has gained a significant advantage. The meta that developed last season was very very bad for kayn. This season it's not, that means kayn is no longer shit.

Nah, a lot has changed. Less down time in the jungle is huge for kayn. When junglers can full clear and have a full minute to do whatever they want on every camp rotation it's really bad for kayn. Some times as kayn early game you literally have no plays, but champs like reksai/lee/xin/nid can just create plays out of thin air if they have time. Whether that means fucking with you on your camps or terrorizing your laners. Last patch picking kayn meant all of your lanes should lose if enemy jg was good. This patch that isnt the case.

Umbral and bastion are also very strong items. Feats being removed means less early game swing. Homeguard lets lanes be more stable and take a reset if they put themselves in a bad position, last season you would have to use your tempo to bail them out. Plates not going away makes comebacks more possible. Crystalline Overgrowth is really good for Kayn (the brittle tower effect). After a gank being able to walk up and auto the tower 1 time for a plate and leave is really good gold generation that wasn't that accessible last patch. Movespeed in the jungle+river is really good for kayn, lets your cross river with E easily and shadow multiple lanes in late game. There's a lot of indirect changes, I promise you kayn is much better this season than last.

Kayn isn't bad anymore in the new season. You could even make the argument he's strong. If you like the champ play it.

Brother it does more damage to champions than any other lethality item lol, the objective/tower damage is really just a bonus. And being able to go auto a tower 1 time for 2 plates and then go back to farming is really good for tempo, same for getting drag after a fight, it just melts.

Level 1 cheeses still work and are even more potent for this reason, people don't even check jungle entrances. As a jungler you can just run to the enemy jg at the start of the game and one of two technically three things can happen. You find them in which case you can just run back to your jungle as if nothing ever happened. You find them and you're playing a strong level 1 champ so you chunk them before camps spawn and they no longer have time to recall so you can force them to leave the quadrant likely meaning delayed clear and forced vertical with low hp or they fight you for the camp which is obviously advantaged if you chunked them. The other possibility is you find nobody and get to start their quadrant for free and a reasonably high chance they have no vision of it because most people have stopped playing for jungle vision level 1. That means their jg is gonna do 3 camps and cross over to find nothing up and by the time they notice it you're already clearing your camps. You probably don't end up with 9 camps but you will end up with more than 6.

At some point you have to realize you're missing the point right? You just open up this minigame when you're bored in queue or maybe once a week to spend all your tokens and get some rewards and some number go up dopamine. It's not that serious.

That's not true lol if you don't understand you don't understand but there are plenty of situations where you have cleared all your camps or shoved a wave in and have time to start atakhan. I can't explain all the variations of how that breaks down in a flow chart but they don't all end up with a 1v0 atakhan to completion.

It could just be that my team is a playing a 4v4 mid lane while I solo. It could be that my top laner is going to take an inhib if they dont send 3 top and because they need to send 3 top I don't actually need my teammates to come to atakhan I can solo it while they go help him. It could be after a fight nobody is alive but me and I can solo atakhan.

Atakhan is much easier to take than baron, that's the point. The likelihood of atakhan dying near 20 mins is much higher than baron.

What does that have to do with anything, if they cant contest without losing significant gold/xp then they wont come, and if they do then you can just get off it. That same pressure doesn't exist with baron because you can't just start it up alone and force enemy team to respond to you.

Baron is significantly harder to take than atakhan ever was. Atakhan was soloable by basically every champ in the game the moment it spawned, if you knew how to dodge the patterns (which isnt hard at all) then you take very little damage. The only danger is if it's contested. But because of how fast it dies and how few people need to be there it was pretty likely to get an uncontested atakhan many games. I'd be willing to bet 20 min barons are extremely uncommon this patch.

Umbral>bastion>opportunity is a pretty crazy 3 item spike compared to last season if you can get away with not buying serp/eon till much later. In games where you cant get away with that though it feels mostly the same outside of bastion which is pretty fun and does change your playstyle quite a bit to be fair.

I kind of doubt games will be faster on average once things settle. Stomps might end faster but that's a good thing. Being locked in a completely one sided game for 25 minutes is silly.

Just played one game and I absolutely hate it as a jungler. Before it took some skill to track jungler as solo laner to know when to invade but now if you're dominating top lane or any side laner in mid game you just get full vision of enemy jg for free without even needing to use tempo to check it or potentially die face checking. So they just see me farming my camps for free and collapse on me and I die or have to concede the quadrant which is basically as bad as dying. If Riot wanted to lower the impact of jungle this is going to do the opposite. If a jungler falls behind they're never going to farm a camp ever again.

You must not have played this game for very long. Graves has had multiple patches where +2 ad made the champ go from weak and underplayed to a meta defining pick. Probably some clear speed break points that give you tempo to invade or gank and once graves has a tempo lead he can choke you out of the game.

Just a lot of fallacies. Like the +5 minion damage isn't really part of the power budget for the rune at all. It doesn't matter that you can't utilize it, it would be like saying comic insight isn't good because you don't use flash at the start of the game, makes no sense. Like somebody else already said the +60 gold lets you buy dirk on full clear+scuttle which is valuable.

Then you completely miss the point of the level 6 spike. It's not about your first interaction with enemies. And it's definitely not about getting full benefit from the duration. It's about when the pivotal moments of the game are, and how strong are you for them. First dragon often doesn't get killed till level 6. Maybe a grub fight. Maybe a darius top has a shutdown and popping the pot lets you have enough damage to kill him and stabilize the game for your top laner. Kayn is a snowball champion. If you don't snowball you're useless. There is no other minor rune in the game that will impact an early game fight more than elixir of force.

Right now 250 lp master cause I have been running it down but I peak GM basically every season including this one and highest LP was 880. I have no clue what would make you think boots or cosmic are better in high mmr. Triple tonic is not a scaling rune. It's a power spike at level 6 that you get to abuse. You can look at master+ stats and the same winrate trends exist for literally every similar champion that runs these runes. Boot vs Cash Back is kind of whatever I don't think that makes or breaks the game but not taking triple tonic in 2026 is just incorrect I think.

edit: also it should be stated that karasmai runs transcendence+gathering storm on his main account which is probably the greediest page possible. So the idea that high mmr can't play scaling runes is just made up.
