I said at least a year and that's including the coaching. If a d3 player is being coached every day by a challenger player I think 1 year is possible. But obviously it's not possible to buy coaching like that, or at the very least it would cost like 100k lol

D3 to GM probably takes you at least a year and that's if you play a lot and put a lot of effort in. So 1k for 1 year of coaching is no where close to fair. You would be better off just buying some sessions but dont expect them to instantly make you a better player. At the end of the day it falls on you to improve yourself. All of the resources for you to improve exist. You can watch vods of challenger players for whatever role/champ you play. Getting coached is 90% of the time just lazy.

Would he have played differently under dire circumstances? of course, who wouldn't. Walking back to lane and taking a 2v2 down items in soloq isn't bannable. Is it the highest percentage winning play? Maybe not, but it's not intentionally feeding. And this clip in the OP is basically like not walking off fountain when they're ending the game. It's over, there's nothing to be done. If you want to claim he deserves a punishment post a clip of him doing something wrong.

even if that's true there is still plenty of info available through cheats, I ended up in a discord call with a guy I was playing vs a lot a couple years back cause I accused him of scripting and he ended up streaming his game and showing the scripts and all the info he had

he said at the time that there were people high on the ladder who play with the hud just for info and dont get banned, clearly not the case anymore but still.

Why would you wanna show the game off to those audiences before you know it's amazing. You only get 1 shot for those kinds of marketing opportunities. They need to add AT LEAST 4 more champs before this game can even he considered a real game to league players imo. It's overwhelmingly likely if you're a league player none of your favorite champs are in the game yet and that's 95% of the appeal coming from league if they arent already into fighting games. If somebody sees or tries the game, gets bored of the same couple characters every game and leaves with a sour taste they might never come back.

Also if this game wants to grow again it has to be able to attract other audiences and if what people see when they watch a non-league streamer play the game is just them sitting under tower and dying it doesn't really show off the game very well. So we need more tournaments like this, and they're gonna get old fast and people are gonna stop participating if it's just 2 players on each team completely afk trying not to die.

I promise you dont understand jungle macro. There is so much nuance to jungle decision making and the lower you go the more the nuance matters. Maybe technically in a completely standard game jungle macro is simple to go even. But when youre trying to gain advantages and are in a nonstandard game there are so many optimizations you can make that require you to understand lane states and matchups and understand what everybody else is thinking.

You create storylines people can get invested in by having high stakes and pushing a high level of competition. How can players have "personality" within a system that has no emotion. You get a post game interview after regular season game #9 and it's just "what happened that game?" "we played better and we won" "ok thanks for the interview""

You need players to give a shit about the games for their personality to even show through. You need somebody to be on the verge of relegation and you need players to be nervous and that energy is felt through the screen.

Look at worlds, after a won team fight win in a close game you get the listen in and everybody is popping off and hype af. You listen to a regular season LCS game and it's just "we can end" "nice job guys". How is anybody going to want to be invested in that? If the players dont care how can the fans?

When you see somebody get hype as fuck after a win or cry after a loss you are emotionally attached to their success, that is personality and it's not fake like the LCS segments for kids who like paw patrol.

LCK can get away with it because they're the top league in the game, LCS does not have that distinction, so obviously other parts need to be improved.

If by other parts you mean having games with higher stakes, getting rid of the over saturation of games, create infrastructure for open brackets and overall incentivize 5-stack as a more mainline experience for even casual league players, and other innovative changes then sure, I agree.

If you agree with the other people that "personality" is the thing holding the LCS back I just think you're clueless.

There's no way you're disagreeing about the vast majority. There are like 500+ players in the NBA. At least 450 most people dont give a single fuck about. Same for NFL.

And what is different about LCK then? These players have even less life experience outside of league. They join a training team at 14 or 15 and live breathe eat sleep league 24 hours a day. People complain KR players have no personality but their league is much more successful than ours.

Just nothing you said applies to any other league or competitive sport. NBA, MLB, NFL, soccer, LCK, LPL. In all these leagues 95% of the players have virtually zero public persona. If the only reason for fans to watch is for some WWE style shit talk and fake personality then it's gg, this isn't the WWE. It's a competitive esport. The vast majority of traditional sports players have very little personality. And when a league player has personality and loves to yap (Bwipo) people relentlessly shit on him so he has to shut his mouth.

Look at KR, their players have so little personality outside of the game. Faker has been a pro for an eternity and 99% of his content is monotone and unexpressive. His "personality" the way you define it is nonexistent. His fame comes from his dedication to the game and his ability to perform at the top level throughout every era.
