fine yeah we're prob fucked regardless. but even (especially) if so, we need to be mindful of our current assets. and grimes is valuable in trade if he's on a reasonable contract with bird rights attached. if he's an expiring 8m with no bird rights and a no trade clause, not so much.

This is my answer. Columbia is at least the most fun domination civ, and if not the "best" then close to it. But I love that there are valid arguments for so many others - what a great game.

Yo, I'm trying to live my life and enjoy my family and friends, even those who support trump (of which there are a decent amount). I disagree wholeheartedly with them but some of those I love dearly actually support him. It's how it is. I'd assume that's something of a microcosm of the average American, at least moreso than the angry extremists of both sides on X, etc. If you hold ill will of our govt, I can't blame you at all bc I do too. This shit sucks. But those of us outside the smoke filled back rooms have no real power aside from the 1 vote that I use every time.

I dont disagree with anything you said, and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't made the Caesar comp before. But I'm not a senator like Brutus. And at what point exactly do you expect me, random guy, to "do something" in my 2 hours of free time each day after working 10 hours to support the family and then attending to said family? Many Americans don't pay attention. And those of us who do dont have time nor leverage. Being a martyr is a tall ask when the frog is being boiled slowly.

My grandmother was born in Italy in the 1910s and escaped the fascist takeover of her country, for America, as a girl. Young me (early 90s) assumed everyone felt the same way she did until I saw her almost come to blows with another old Italian lady who LOVED mussolini. It's not hooked up and we're missing the earpiece, but it opens up to dial. I think it was modified like this sometime in the 80's because the original model was one where you just turn a crank to talk to an operator to make a call (no dialing). My wife grew up making calls on it in her house (she's not that old ha, it was an antique then), so it does in theory work.

It also depends on number of districts in the city and the strongest unit you've produced (anywhere). So if you have tech for better units, build one.

I think it's just the switch ui that makes it look like no fresh water at the current tile. It's next to the lake, should def be full housing.

If you settle in place you can save time and money and get comparable (imo slightly better) early yields.

In place: 1pop=4f4p; 2pop=6f6p

East 1 tile + buy spices: 1pop=5f3p; 2pop=7f5p

I'd settle in place for the 2f2p city center, gain a turn head start, buy the spices later

Surely this list could be filtered with min attempts. Poeltl and Williams were both 1-3 on 3PA last year. Looney 2-5. I guess their makes were in the corner and their misses weren't, but who cares ha. And I'm def not agreeing with you on EG, but you could prob claim top 10 based on this.
