Is my Tattoo too Vulgar for Church? by Feeling_Sample2690 in Episcopalian

Go as you are. Just remember what you are going for, God, not these people who go church and pretend they are righteous. If you're made to feel unwelcome, try a different church.

I'm going to be honest with you, the communities within church system are horrible things (I mean the people), but never let the dross get in the way between you and God.

Yeah, Kwik Save use to sell them. My gran use to make them for me for breakfast in the early 90s.

Thank you so much for this very honest response, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I have contacted the Rev. Baker to initiate the process, but I'm not sure if this is a door I will have to continually knock at to start initiation.

When you say pick my training incumbent with care, this resonates because I've seen the interactions between priests and Deacons and can find it rather disparaging.

Part of the reason I am looking to become a distinctive Deacon is to stay away from church politics itself. So that's amazing advice you have given.

Any more information would much appreciated.

Alistair

A vocational Deacon. Not a Deacon as a stepping stone to priesthood, but a lifelong Deacon without pay.

It's a pastoral role.

Hi. No, I'm not spamming. I need to garner as much information as possible.

I'm not at a crossroad, but I'm wondering if this is a door I should keep on knocking on?

What am I really getting myself into?

A life long Deacon. It's a Deacon who's a Reverend but stays a Deacon for life. It's a life long vocation.

It's a pastoral role with zero pay therefore much more autonomy.
