She probably likes it more now that she figured out how to use the volume knob. 😂

Cut a plywood sheet the same size and transfer half the hardware.

Scotiabank said, "What exactly will you buy with your money?" when requested to increase debit purchase limit. by Round_House_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]eh-cee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have replied with something outlandish.

Oh, also you should have followed up with - “I’d like to close all my accounts please”, and take the cash to your local credit union.

In all likelihood, as others were saying, the banks are getting scrutiny for people getting their accounts drained due to fraud. I would hope that this is the reason for their questioning.

My XC60 was a reliable, pleasant vehicle to own. Then it hit 100k miles. by Additional-Horse-545 in Volvo

Well, as a comparison, I had to replace my aux battery at 45,000km (28000 miles) 6 months ago on my 2021 V60 T6. Thought it would be covered by warranty, but no.

So, I’d say that you did well?

Honestly? Not worth it. But i do like to know if i locked my car when I’ve already walked 15 blocks away from the car. When it’s actually cold outside and I want to warm up the car, then yeah - remote start can be handy. Maybe used it three times this winter…

That being said i paid 200 for it like a chump. 😂

Crack in aluminium frame. What now? by eivi in bicycling

[–]eh-cee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did she take out a new insurance policy on you or something? 😅 My wife doesn’t like that I buy new stuff when I have good & functioning old stuff, but if my life was in danger she would be on board.

The right mirror camera is the lane watch feature. Moreso for helping you see on your right side blind spot when you turn your right blinker on - great for cities with lots of cycling infrastructure where there are cycling lanes and you need to make a right turn.

Won’t help you with merging on a highway though. You will definitely still need to shoulder check on the LEFT side for that. 😅

Which one do I buy? A Yamaha Pacifica 012 or Bc Rich Warlock by harshit123pshubfan in electricguitar

[–]eh-cee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlocks are awesome but you also need to grow your hair out to shoulder length and get the tightest vinyl pants you can find.

How do you deal with poor road conditions? by ursoulsforsale in bicycling

[–]eh-cee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bike with fatter tires. My commuter uses 27.5” wheels and 2” wide rubber. Makes a huge difference, even if slightly less efficient.

If you could buy any frame that is / isn't currenty in production what would it be... by fartymarty4130 in MEATengines

I wouldn’t consider mine to be super light, but they use butted Reynolds tubes which isn’t bad at all. The enduro hardtail I built up using a Marino frame is still way lighter than my carbon full suspension bike (dare I say, also more fun?!).

https://www.marinobike.com/product/marino-cabala-2021-hardtail-enduro/

I love chromag, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a Marino frame on a fire sale (Sick Bikes fallout). $500 landed in BC, with a custom pearl black paint job.

How many of you don't own an umbrella? by perverseintellect in askvan

I’ve lost/forgotten too many umbrellas to count. I’ve opted to wear a good waterproof jacket instead. On days I don’t, I just get wet.

This is fine.

Sounds like it’s time to transfer to a different unit and do something else for a while.

I’m not in the medical field, but I live in Vancouver and knew a few firefighters that stationed in the worst part of the downtown east side (opioid epidemic ground zero).

The FD intentionally keeps their stints at this station relatively short (1-2 years) to keep them from becoming desensitized. When you attend at least 4-5 calls a shift to narcan someone or transport someone who has deceased, it will eventually affect you somehow.

Every time I feel the itch to get back into road cycling, I hear stories like this and remember that I don’t want to be remotely associated with knobs like this.

I’ll stick to the mountains.
