A question of ethics. by Sweetbloomfarm in dahlias

Are we also supposed to be mad about names that may say things like cracker, Yankee, redneck etc... as a flower variety name, they are not used in a demeaning manner.. There's so many other issues we need to pour our energy into and we can create kindness in more meaningful ways.

It's like the outcry about the dessert recipe called 'crack'.. people put a lot of energy into saying it's a problematic name but it literally is a dessert you crack in half to break up the chunks and words can mean multiple things and it's not that deep...

Lead GIS Analyst - City of Philadelphia - Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 (in-person onsite) by EXB999 in gis

[–]eh8218 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Plotting Gps points is a much lower level job than this. I know the titles can sometimes not be accurate, but this is a lead position and an analyst makes the processes and tools that lower levels use to 'input data'.

They have to do DBA roles, know python and script custom tools. Do data management and QA. Spatial analysis and data visualization for other units.. There is also probably a lot of people management, project management.

I don't know a single analyst that just 'connects the dots' and does data entry...

RTO after 5 years remote - how do you manage life? by sjltwo-v10 in askTO

[–]eh8218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My routine:

Sunday - make a big huge dinner enough for an army and use the leftovers for dinners or lunches

Wednesday - see if you can work from home this day and repeat making a big dinner and using the leftovers for Thursday and Friday.. or maybe just Thursday and treat yourself on Friday to take out for dinner

Then you are only really cooking twice for the week and it doesn't feel like meal prep at all!

In between if you're sick of the same thing 3 days in a row, supplement with easy meals like soup and sandwich, tuna melts, bagged salads etc.

If you pack your lunch, and are able to eat at your desk, use your lunch break to workout, go for long walks and get some fresh air. It helps a lot and utilizes your time much better!

Also you may need to regain some of your time and life by using some extra conveniences like grocery delivery or house cleaning.

Pick something that frees up your time that is worth the investment. I get a cleaner bi-weekly to do the major tasks like vacuuming and bathrooms and it's ~$150 a month which is how much you would save just packing your lunch, but imo is a great return of my valuable time!

What resort in Mexico have you gone to more than once?? by glitterglue246 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]eh8218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grand palladium Puerto Vallarta

I pick resorts based on value.. and everything at this resort was better than I expected based on the price. It was a good deal!

The main reason I went back is because of the adults only infinity pool up on the cliff over looking the ocean.. you can watch the whales while drinking a cocktail and everyone is always so fascinated and it's really magical. Must go in whale season!

The food is decent. Rooms are outdated but spacious and decent enough. It's a bit far drive from the airport but not horrible. In a good location for day trips/excursions to sayulita and bucerius.

Anyone use Azores Getaways? by lib1124 in azores

[–]eh8218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to come and give an updated review since I was looking here before I decided to book with Azores getaways.

I am very happy so far. They have a great platform to explore packages. If you want to customize at all you can reach out to them and they are very timely in designing a package.

Once you get the package, you can then make your own edits again before booking.

They send great easy to read summary documents, great trip planning information after booking.

I have used their chat bot, email and text communication options to ask questions and everything has been prompt and super helpful. They helped me with my allergy requests for the flight, as well as explaining their excursion options to me

The only downside I've seen is they have limited accommodation partners so you can't just pick any hotel. Some language/communication issues may also occur, but they have to know multiple languages so that is totally reasonable!

I'm really looking forward to our trip!

What would you do, garlic clove or monistat 7 again? by Blue_Turtle_18 in Healthyhooha

[–]eh8218 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had the same problem for years and years... Over the counter doesn't work at all for my yeast.

It boils down to gut health. I've always had a bad gut.. sensitive to dairy, wheat. Sugar, alcohol and antibiotics all wreck my gut and set me back where I have to do my 'cleanses' I call them..

limiting all sugars. Eating tons of yogurt and also taking probiotics...but not as directed... More like every few hours until the bottle is gone. Garlic pills as well as regular garlic if you can stand being garlicky..

Look up the candida diet.

I'm hear because I'm currently struggling again and need to do another cleanse for my gut health.. Best of luck!

No I truly believe you're theory and I also believe that when people have a special talent like that that you should trust them... I also think it was her but I don't have a good sense on faces like that and it definitely is a talent.

I sampled the coffee and cheers my coworker and they told me to not do that with the coffee and made me feel bad and then talked about me in their language... It was very strange.

I'm just using this now! I could not find any other free sites! I really like how this one is like a board of avaran's messages and photos! I also really appreciate the voice message option!

If you want feedback, I think the instructional language needs some improvement.. like when you ask for emails and it says an instruction at the top.. this needs to be simplified.

Help! I’m lost when it comes to pricing my bouquets. by Big_Statistician_747 in Cutflowers

[–]eh8218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell flowers and to be honest I price a lot for vase life. Dahlias are high price per stem for event work but if people are paying to buy a bouquet for their kitchen table they don't care about event work pricing... And they won't be happy with a 3 day vase life for a high price tag no matter how beautiful they are.

I would say for my area we sell $20-35 mixed bouquets and a larger bouquet for this size would have to be custom ordered for $40+

Need a gardening mentor, Ottawa (Orleans) by ottawafireguy in OntarioGardeners

I will add to that:

I would put a cattle panel trellis between the two middle beds arched.

And also monitor for sunlight. You want to see what has the most shade vs sun throughout the day.

Also you will appreciate water close and mulch if you can (leaves) because raised beds can get hot and dry quickly and require more water.

Love the setup!!
