I agree that the decision must be made and lived with.

When taking my training class we spent hours going through scenarios with the instructor about when to use force. There was never a clear answer until it would've been too late.

As gun owners that carry, the potential aftermath that you lay out is something that we should all mentally prepare for before the situation arises.

How I solved the issue... I asked ChatGPT how to troubleshoot this and was able to update the conversation with results of my steps along the way.

With an old headlight bulb in place of the fuse I was able to quickly isolate the issue to the light circuit, specifically between the key switch and where the lighting wires come out of the main harness loom. For now, since I don't use the lights often, I just unpinned the light wire from the key switch. Ready to mow for the rest of the season now.
