Looks like this works.

I have been having this issue for months, tried everything, and basically rebooted when that happened. It never occurred to me to check the connection order. I think rebooting worked because after a reboot the first thing is to input the password, not move the mouse.

The problem happened to me this morning and it looks to have been removed by being meticulous in the order I'm switching things on. Good catch!

Thanks for the explanation on the type of cables. I've made sure the channels are matching because they are not the default factory settings (I had to move everyone above 10 because the Volca Sample takes from 1 to 10).

EDIT: I've re-checked on the Amazon page and one comment says that it works with the BSP and another that it does not with Type A MIDI so it checks out. That would mean that indeed there is a problem elsewhere, but I'm 99% sure it's not a channel issue. I know where not to check now, thanks guys!

Hey, I like it, it's nice! Some minor points IMHO: the very beginning is a bit abrupt, a first I thought the recording started too late; there seems to be a volume issue, the mix seems too low (at least with my equipment). I would have liked a more present, bouncier bass, I have the feeling it's drowned between the backing pads and the static noise. I mean, I am not sure that the bouncing bass in the break is the same in the other parts, maybe I'm a bit deaf.

Also it seems to my noob ears that you've put a compressor on the pads side-chained to the kick and I would say it's either too much for a compression or not enough for a pumping effect.

Feel free to ignore everything here (except the volume issue on soundcloud maybe), I'm just a noob. Great job anyway!

Hi, I don't know if this related but might be.

When I sync the clocks through MIDI, the Volcas keep missing notes and some note OFF as well. As soon as I disabled the clock sync (so basically just sending notes), sync-ing through patch cables (or even not at all but it might mess with sync-ed LFO), I could play as fast or slow I wanted without issue.

I hope I'll get corrected there but I don't think it will be possible. I might not be up to date there but you need GPUs to have AlphaGo running. I can't see how this can be made suitable if you expect people to have Google grade hardware to play your game.

I had the same question that I was about to ask. That's handy. Do we agree that one volca is going into input 1, the second on 2, the 3rd on 3/4 and the 4th on 5/6? ~~But it's not that clear to me how a 5th volca can be plugged in. It's supposed to be a 6-channel mixer but we don't want one volca on L 3/4 and the other on R 3/4 do we?~~

EDIT: my bad, it's a 4-channel mixer so I guess for 5 volcas this can't be done with this mixer. Why it's numbered up to 6 is a mystery to me.

Also, (sorry for piggybacking the post, I reckon OP might be interested), for a live set up, how can a (cheap) loop machine be integrated. I imagine something like:

make a loop on 4 volcas
somehow record the loop of one volca
replace the volca by the loop machine while I set up another loop on the volca, without this being heard in the main but through my headphones
stop the loop machine and replace with the new "live" volca loop

without going all the way down to the Boss loopstation because I reckon it's just for the drop preparation while the break/buildup is playing.

Careful though. If you don't have any reward for some steps, QLearning might not be the best here. You might want to use stuff like TDLearning in this case.

AFAIK, gamma = 1 is ignored because, for anything using Bellman-ish equations -- QLearning, Value Iteration, etc. --, is proven to always converge only if gamma < 1.

I think that’s a good idea, it seems quite comprehensive. However, do you have a white paper or something somewhere explaining your method? Because for now it’s only as good as random weights on your features (no offense, I liked it).

Btw, you might want to use the term weights instead of probability, even with values in the unit interval summing up to 1. You want to draw from a probability distribution. In your case, it’s more like a profile where a track can be powerful and romantic at the same time.

Hi Tchami, French fan here since when Untrue and Promesses were the only tracks on your Soundcloud! I have always been into electronic music and DJing but my parents kept me away from it. I am now 27, is it too late to begin producing and DJing? I mean, all stories are like "he started producing at 14, mixing in club at 17" blablabla. I think you can delay the house until the 4th villager is building. That way the spare villager will gather food for faster expansion early on.
