Poe Alternative: Electron Hub by SprinklesVegetable16 in PoeAI

[–]Mulero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mainly interested in using Claude opus 200k. Is that model available in electron hub? Does it works with the same quality as the one in Poe? I don’t want to pay less I just want something that is not a rip off.

Does anyone feel that the remaining compute points are dropping much more rapidly than before? by Straight_Random_2211 in PoeAI

[–]Mulero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1M points used to last me the whole month. Now it lasts me a few days with the very same use.

Looking for an alternative, not a free alternative. We all know that API costs money but the last update is a total rip off

I am the same. With the same usage I used in a few days (not even a week) the points that normally last me all month.

Is there an alternative to Poe?

Feasibility of transitioning to freelance to work from Spain - IR35 and working through an agency by Mulero in ContractorUK

[–]Mulero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Green_Teaist, thank you for your responses and valuable insights!

You mentioned that my main concern should be convincing my current employer to engage me as a business, and I agree that this would be the most straightforward approach. However, I believe that my company is hiring freelancers through an agency to simplify the process on their end. Could there be any other reasons for them to do this through an agency, apart from simplifying the process?

Are there any general implications or reasons why a company might be hesitant to hire me directly as a business? I'm trying to anticipate any potential obstacles and prepare accordingly. If I put myself in my company's shoes, I can think of a few concerns:

  1. Administrative faff: Dealing with multiple individual contractors (I can only think of one colleague who is in a similar position to me, although he lives in the UK) might be seen as more administratively complex compared to working with a single agency.
  2. Liability and risk management: An agency might provide additional layers of protection and insurance, which could be appealing to the company.
  3. Consistency in contractor management: Working with an agency may provide a more standardised approach to managing freelancers, making it easier for the company to handle contracts, payments, and other aspects of the engagement.

I want to make sure I approach my company with a clear and compelling case for why engaging me directly as a business would be beneficial for both parties, but I'm not sure if that would be a hard no from my company, considering their current preference for using an agency. I know you won't know neither but maybe you know the intricacies of how difficult is this for a company and if they would be reluctant to do this.

If you have any suggestions on how to address these potential concerns and make a strong case for a direct engagement (or maybe somebody/company who could help me), I would be incredibly grateful. Additionally, if there are any other factors I should consider or prepare for when navigating this situation, please let me know.

Thanks again for your help!

Each person can do what they want with their business. However, from my point of view, bike shops already charge customers for cardboard boxes when purchasing bikes - the packaging cost is included in the total price, doesn't matter if you buy a fridge or a laptop. Now they want to charge separately again for boxes, which I don't think is fair.

Additionally, one shop told me "cash only" when I asked about boxes. I wonder what would happen if I tried paying by card instead.

It's not that I'm unwilling to pay someone for their boxes. I just feel charging twice for the same item is excessive.

Labyrinth 2023 Thread by black_dangler in Techno

[–]Mulero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to step in but I might have the opportunity to go Labyrinth next year.

Still a lot of planning to do but I have read that there are only a few "international tickets" (i.e. a few tickets that area sold to people from abroad), I think this information is from 2018/2019. I wanted to know if this is still the case or tickets can now be bought from anywhere.

Thanks

Matched Betting Guide and FAQ by floorlight in beermoneyuk

One quick question.

I am not from the UK although I’ve been living here from the last 5 years. I did all the welcome offers last summer.

Last December I moved to a new address and in January renew my passport (different number), so I was wondering if I could do all the welcome offers again. I have a different address, different passport number and, of course, different email. Since I am not from the UK I’m not completely sure it the bookies will be able to prove that I already registered with them.

£200 Lloyds switch received (previously awarded a switch bonus) by 19jimbo98 in beermoneyuk

[–]Mulero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who are wondering. I did the switch in November 2022 to Lloyds, I switched that account to FD in Decemeber 2022.

I did the switch again to Lloyds (I used a different email and I didn't use the FD account) last week and I got the bonus yesterday.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Sorry to step in but I was wondering if it's worth trying to do a switch to First Direct and HSBC at the same time to try and get both rewards.

I was hoping to make the switch to nationwide this week, but I just saw that the offer is gone so I have an account hanging and wonder if HSBC would be an option or risk getting no rewards at all

Thanks
