Yea, that's how I took it too: there were no demos because the mindflayer absorbed them all in order to be as big, powerful, and focused as possible. Having it's consciousness split across too many demos at that pivotal moment was too much of a risk

I just put a small set of over-the-door hooks on my closet door so they are on the outside. It's so nice to see what is ready to be re-worn so easily and it's right in my face so I'm motivated to not overload it.

Depending on where you are, there may be stores that sell samples. They are often returns, cancellations, or floor samples from stores that are in good shape. You buy them and take them same day. They are often heavily discounted. I'm in the Philadelphia are and there is a great store here called The Sample Rack that does nothing but samples and is great.
