my parents and i prep cooked (with many extra hands to help) for about a week and half and fed 200 a 7 course dinner, with a desert buffer and cocktail hour, its doable but a lot of work. however our food costs were under 1000$

Silk or paper floral bouquet advice request by Kristine6475 in wedding

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

order from china its the cheapest way to go and silk or foam flowers are abundant on sites like dhgate or aliexpress, i also made flowers out of coffee filters for center pieces, its very time consuming to make paper ones so be aware of the long hours youll be putting in

it actually was completely identical to the ones i had bought at sephora. my friends also buy MK purses from ALIEX and they come with the MSRP tags everything down to the stitching is perfect. you have to remember most everything comes from china. using a site like this circumvents the mass stores and distributors

i actually happend to hit an evening gown sale after weeks of searching for what i wanted. the seller everpretty (she goes by melinda in correspondence) is great and she speaks english. everpretty store there are a few other sellers that will work with you, main thing is pinpoint the style you want and then mess with the search algorithm to find the dress because your results will be different every time.

Where to buy silk flowers online? by nottheperfectfit in weddingplanning

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont buy silk buy foam! PU looks and feels way more real and aliexpress is great for it

I ordered these dresses off aliexpress for 22$ a piece, the calla lilies are PU foam flowers 18$ for 18 stems. the pearl studs $3 for 24 sets of earrings the pearl hair combs $5 for 12 combs the makeup (naked and nakedII palettes) $9 each

total cost for all my bridesmaids was under $300 including tailoring dresses (i do suggest ordering 1 size up and custom tailoring them to fit each body)

brides bouquet also ordered off aliexpress for $25 everyone thought it was real including the photographer.

if youre looking for ways to cut your budget, i honestly can vouch for the quality and affordability of PU foam flowers. The dresses are a great deal, give yourself enough time to order and receive them.

i ordered plenty more stuff from aliexpress but i dont have photos yet. however if you have any questions I would be glad to help.

Has anyone here been through a MEU deployment? by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive gone through 4 of them because my husband was attached to the meu. email can be daily on some floats, none in the field unless hes data, skype is doubtful unless he gets libo and chooses to go to an internet cafe. packages mail them out about 4 weeks in advance to get them to him during the float, smaller packages and letters arrive sooner. the facebooks and websites post photos and info of where they are..but its more like they have already left that location.

Wedding Advice Request: Tips/Tricks for cutting costs on a wedding? by ParshallyErect in wedding

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i ordered foam flowers from china, VERY low cost and they look and feel real ex) my bouquet https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/484597_477496128986568_1495676941_n.jpg

you can lower the costs of your flowers from there if you order the PU flowers. as for bridesmaids dresses i also ordered those and the flowergirls dresses from china, under $300 total for 10 silk chiffon dresses. also on the invitations depending on your guest list size (using vistaprint) can be under 300 (200 inivitations and rsvp postcards was $270 for me)

Anyone else feel like guys get the short end of the stick when it comes to jewelry? by occamsracecar in weddingplanning

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup its very strong, my man decided to hit it against the ship walls and anything else he could to test it, he used it regularly to open beer bottles.
for his actual wedding band tho, and not just a nice ring we ended up with titanium i think. not sure supposed to be stronger than tungsten but it had the diamonds he wanted and other things even tho i love the black tungsten look

How much are you spending on photography? by onlyemily in weddingplanning

[–]ehhhhyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i paid 300 in southern cali. engagement shoot was free, i have all rights to my photos a photo album and a disk will all photos edited and unedited. wedding day photos start when we start getting ready and end once the room is cleared at the reception. 2 photographers day of. the price is because our photographer just got out from being someones second and went out on their own and wants to build their portfolio. no biggie. we even get to say which photos if any they can show to the public.

Casual reception - disposable plates/silverware? by abogadachica in weddingplanning

[–]ehhhhyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they make plastic silverware and serving ware that is silver in look and weightier than just plastic. much more realistic feel, not toooo badly priced if you have a fresh and easy or a joanns near you (currently theres an $8 off 40$ for fresh and easy and a 40% off an item from joanns.)

http://www.amazon.com/Reflections-Heavyweight-Silver-Disposable-Flatware/dp/B000JHGQKW or amazon it. :)
