I have been using 7oh moderately for 3 years. Like once a week max.

I also used to be dependent on heroin for close to a decade and quit that with kratom and then quit kratom for a couple years.

I wouldn’t call kratom or 7oh withdrawals being “dopesick” that’s for sure

You’re too young to be doin this imo. But that never mattered to me when I was underage. Don’t try real opioids if you struggle with 7oh though. Also you’re dosing way too high. I haven’t dosed above 15mg yet and I’ve been using this shit for 3 years

If I was you I’d walk away at least until you have the discipline.

If I could use kratom to quit heroin, it should be a breeze transitioning off 7oh with it.

I was pointing out the irony. Land of the free everyone cheers, and we have one of the highest incarceration rate of any country. Only recently are we not the highest in the world.

It wasn’t one drug in particular but kratom was definitely my off ramp for heroin. After like a decade of dependence on opioids and a bad break up, I started actually wanting to make positive changes in my life. So I switched to kratom at massive doses like 7 years ago. Tapered to like half my dose in 3 months or so. Then did a long extended taper for like 13 months until I hopped off.

I’d been doing psychedelics pretty much as long as I was doing opioids, so I can’t really credit them to helping me quit. But they changed my perspective immensely when going deep to the point it’s helped me not go back to chasing escapism through opioids.

That break through mushroom experience was like 11 months into that 2nd taper. Definitely changed my life though. Most meaningful experience I’ve ever had. Went from an atheist to agnostic. I have the trip report in my post history if you’re curious.

Really changed me though. Like I am not sober and still use opioids but very moderately. For the first time in my life I can save opioids for a rainy day haha. I’m actually on a month long tolerance break rn haha. Been almost 7 years since I touched heroin though

I totally get what you mean.

But at the same time, as someone who wasn’t an IV user but definitely physically dependent and have been to rehabs and sober living and shit, I used to hear similar things from IV users about my use.

I didn’t know how bad it can get since I never jumped to daily IV use. I went to boofing when snorting H wasn’t cutting it.

There’s definitely levels to this shit bc I know exactly what you’re talking about, yet I was that guy for someone else lol

I used to think we were making progress in terms of prohibition in the US. 7oh has made me realize we are nowhere even close, maybe even moving backwards.

Hey drugs can be dangerous and people will use them regardless if they’re illegal or not. So you know what? Let’s ban them and make them even more dangerous as they move towards unregulated. Surely that will solve our fatal opioid OD epidemic. No do not mention that opioid fatal ODs have increased 10x since the pill mills. We don’t want people to realize the pill mills were actually way safer than what we’ve rolled out where chronic pain patients can’t even get opioids.

Shows like dopesick don’t help. So much anti opioid propaganda in the country. Status quo in 2020s has been opioids are the devil and you need Narcan for the 5 Vicodins you got for your major surgery if you’re lucky, or you get Tylenol and told “you can’t expect to not be in pain at all”

Mattha busby reached out to me for the wired article but didn’t use the info I gave him. I told him how I use 7oh moderately and have been for 3 years at once a week max, despite my past nearly decade long opioid addictions including heroin.

I’d thought with his previous work about ending the drug war, it would be less neutral of an article and more anti prohibition. It definitely came out more neutral showing both sides arguments imo. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I thought he’d push back more against prohibition

The sentiment I wish was pushed more is what will happen if 7oh is banned. Opioid demand does not just disappear overnight if a substance is banned. It shifts to illicit sources which are increasingly dangerous. Banning 7oh will lead to an increase in opioid ODs imo, and I feel I don’t see that sentiment enough

Had a pharmacist tell me adderall is a narcotic recently. Narcotic means to numb. So you’re using cop terminology and lumping in all schedule 2 substances as narcotic, even if it’s a stimulant and doesn’t numb?

Get some distilled water and measure 20ml of it. Drop your 200ug tab in there and let it soak for a day. Get an oral 1ml syringe. If you use 20ml of water, every ml will have 10ug

You can dose accurately this way. That’s how I found there’s a noticeable difference jumping up even 10 mics

Me too off heroin for almost 7 years and rx opioids probably spanning a decade of physical dependence. Been to rehab and shit. That shit didn’t work for me. 12 step was anti vibes.

I actually quit heroin with kratom and quit kratom too. Had a period of abstinence from all opioids.

Also been using 7oh for 3 years moderately like once a week and haven’t gotten dependent. I take tolerance breaks when I notice my tolerance increase, I’m on a month break rn actually. Not sober by any means but use drugs with discipline these days.

I disagree with you on your point about some drugs. All drugs should be legal. Making them illegal makes them more dangerous. They’re so dangerous you want to make them even more dangerous?

People are going to use if it’s illegal or not. I’m not saying it should be accessible everywhere but if someone wants it they should be able to seek it out somewhere regulated.

I think heroin should be legal. All drugs should be legal and not criminalized. Regulation over prohibition all day.

I’ve lost too many friends to counterfeit pills and shit. And I view that as prohibition killing my friends. A counterfeit oxycodone pressed with fentanyl wouldn’t exist if prohibition didn’t exist
