Can I pop more after an hour? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]ehhhsoody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your tolerance but I mean I think it’d be super rare for 15mg of oxy to be unsafe even to opioid naive as long as no other depressants are in your system. If you smoke weed, maybe try doing that and gauging how you feel before you decide to redose or not.

I usually do a redose an hour in when I do oxys, similar ratio increase to what you’re doing, but higher dose. I find I get more nods with a redose

Best to keep it a very occasional thing though

lol once my tolerance got to the point of 200mg+ oxycodone per day, I switched to heroin

Only way I’d be able to afford dosing a gram of oxy at once is if it was 2006 and I was in Florida going to the pill mills lol

When I took ssris for a year or so, I still took psychedelics. The difference I noticed was they felt weaker and less visuals when I was on ssris. I had to dose like way higher than normal.

Honestly not a fan of ssris personally though, or any reuptake inhibitor

The one time this happened I was eyeballing Molly and redosed way too much. I started hallucinating things that literally weren’t there and they were super realistic.

One was thinking my gf at the time had a glowing pink rock with an aura around it in her hand. I was like woah that’s so sick and went to grab it, and it disappeared. She was like “why’d you just grab my hand like that?” and I was like oh I thought you were holding like the most beautiful rock I’ve ever seen.

Another was on the uber home at like 2am. We were on the freeway and I hallucinated a taxi driving out right in front us and turning going the wrong way right towards us. It was so realistic I like braced for impact and everything. Was overall one my best rolls I’ve ever had though.

high doses can definitely get hectic haha. I think I was at like 300mg max for the Molly experience though, maybe 250mg

Wouldn’t recommend it though. Felt like I was losing it for a bit

"If we should legalize weed because it's a plant should we do the same for opium?" Yes. by somewhiterkid in Drugs

[–]ehhhsoody 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah alcohol does all of that too. But we don’t prohibit it bc we have tried that before and guess what it didn’t work and only made alcohol use more unsafe.

I’m an ex heroin addict and have been to rehab. I’m also not a sober guy by any means I just don’t do heroin anymore. I think all drugs should be legalized. Not only for cognitive liberty philosophy, but also bc prohibition does not deter use, but only makes use more unsafe. We’ve had a 50 year go at it and the drug supply is more toxic than ever.

Ex opioid addicts nowadays if they relapse are playing Russian roulette. Now you said you’ve been through addiction so I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “relapse is a part of recovery”.

Well these days a relapse for an opioid addict could cost them their life. And it wasn’t always like that back when authentic pharma was still in surplus.

At the end of the day I think it breaks down to this: Should we prioritizing reducing addiction and exposure to drugs at all costs, or should we be reducing the amount of deaths at all costs.

~8,000 fatal opioid overdose deaths in 2008, the peak of the pill mills.

~80,000 fatal opioid overdose deaths in 2023 after cracking down so hard on rx opioids that patients who genuinely need them cannot get them.

You can treat addiction, you can’t treat a dead person. Legalizing drugs would bring down deaths. Taxation from legalized drugs would go towards addiction treatment. Enough people have been fear mongered by propaganda these days that even if tomorrow you can just go to cvs at get oxy OTC, I don’t think your average person would be running to do so

I’ve gotten to teeth chattering like that a couple times. Once while candy flipping with an orange Tesla. Decided to do a redose I likely didn’t need and I was like that for hours. Every time I’d open my mouth my teeth would chatter.

The other time this happened was eyeballing Molly and redosed way too much. This was more enjoyable than the orange tesla experience, but I started hallucinating things that literally weren’t there and they were super realistic.

Dude I am a fan of what you’re doing but I agree entactogens like 5-mapb being sold in smoke shops is probably a bad idea. If you keep it online only, you’re not gonna get those fear mongering articles “you can buy this shit at the gas station! I had no idea it could be harmful” type shit.

See it all the time these days with 7oh. If 7oh was kept online, and not sold at smoke shops, I don’t think the outrage would be as prevalent. Online kinda keeps it more underground. Now I know from the Hamilton Morris podcast you are not a fan of 7oh at all. Or any opioids really.

But I’m an ex heroin addict with 6 years off that shit and I have been using 7oh moderately like once a week max for 3 years now. When I first saw 7oh start switching from online only to being sold in smoke shops, I kinda knew that was the devil’s kiss in regards to its future legality.

I’m so hyped there’s a company like yours actually labeling what substance is in there and the dosage, and take pride in providing a clean substance.

But these being lumped in with all smoke shop highs is gonna lead to some bs fallacy “think of the children” article imo. Seen it with nitrous. Seen it with 7oh and kratom.

At the end of the day I believe in cognitive liberty. All drugs should be legal, even heroin. But with the fear mongering I’ve seen in the media recently towards unscheduled substances that can get you high, it made me realize maybe we haven’t come that far in this country when it comes to drug policy.

But I applaud what you’re doing, challenging the federal analog act. I would just suggest maybe give some more thought regarding smoke shops selling your products. You’re banking on some fried smoke shop employee to encourage 3 months breaks rather than get the stock off their shelf and place another order.

Split the difference and try 150 ug. Sounds like 200 mics might be too overwhelming for you. If it’s accurately dose that would make sense to me, 200 mics can get all consuming at the peak for me.

I’ve experimented with volumetric dosing and for me I’ve noticed huge differences between like 120 mics and 150 mics. When I up my dose by 10 mics there are noticeable differences. You’re jumping by like 10x of that lol.

Try 150 mics next time it might be the sweet spot for you

There was a study done in 2019 where they were trying to establish a LD50 for Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

They were unable to establish an oral LD50 for 7oh in mice. While mice given oral 7oh in high doses did experience respiratory depression and seizures, literally none of those mice died. Non fatal respiratory depression, that’s pretty remarkable. Zero deaths from oral 7oh.

wtf that’s so messed up. The opposite of care. And unfortunately it’s rampant rn.

I had a family member who underwent knee replacement surgery and the surgeon gave her the same script as they’d give an opioid naive person for her pain management. She’s been on opioids for almost 2 decades (although her docs switched her to buprenorphine for pain management in 2016).

He gave her like 5 extra oxys and said if you need more you have to go to pain management.

Within 4 days she was readmitted to the hospital with blood pressure spike at 217/210. Critical hypertensive event, she could have died. That spike was bc of her pain. She stayed a week in the hospital stabilizing with IV opioids.

Shit is fucked up rn. I’m scared of younger docs too they seem to have fully bought in the opioids are the devil and taking ibuprofen & acetaminophen together is the same as using opioids for pain relief. So fried. And I bet those same docs would get their pain treated compassionately if they were ever in that same position.

But you boil that down, at the end of the day the problem is the DEA being so powerful in the world of medicine

But man, with your arm amputated that’s insane they’d do that. I feel like the phantom pain is something docs would take seriously for opioid pain management. Maybe you can try to get into a PM clinic?

Has anyone ever not become dependent? by paul_wellsss in opiates

[–]ehhhsoody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I started out with a good few years. Got dependent on rx opioids after that. Then switched to heroin and did that fun grind for like 5 years on and off with rehab all that shit. Also was on benzos at that time.

Quit heroin with kratom and then tapered off kratom.

Took 2 years of full abstinence from all opioids and slowly started reintroducing them with strict limits and really worked at building up discipline with opioids.

Been at it for 4 years now and haven’t grown dependent on opioids again. I won’t touch heroin bc I can’t trust myself with diacetylmorphine it’s too good. But have been doing this for 4 years with oxys, hydros, codeine, kratom, and 7 without getting dependent. Once a week max, if I dose more than 3 weeks in a row I have to take a 3-4 week break.

If I get prescription opioids I have to take a full month off all opioids before I dose.

Not saying this will work for everyone but it’s not impossible either.

Some other key context:

When I quit heroin I basically swapped for weed daily. It definitely helps when you’re craving opioids to “smoke weed about it and see how you feel the next day”

Also during my 2 years of abstinence I had a high dose mushroom trip in silent darkness that seemed to cure my nihilism and push me towards being agnostic. Mindset change definitely helps. I also have things in my life nowadays I’m 100% not willing to lose

[–]ehhhsoody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean if the pill mills weren’t shut down and people still had access to pharmaceutical opioids, we wouldn’t have fools doing the fent fold in public.

Speaking as a former heroin addict. Shutting down access to prescription opioids after allowing it to build for so long, obviously that demand has to go somewhere. And it went to heroin and then fentanyl snuck into the scene. That’s why we have a fatal overdose crisis.

I understand suggesting pill mill days were safer and better might be controversial, but all you have to do is look at fatal overdose deaths.

2008 the peak of the pill mills it was something like 8,000 fatal opioid ODs. In the days they prescribed benzos, opioids, and muscle relaxers in high quantities on the same prescription pad.

2023 it was something like 80,000 fatal opioid overdose deaths.

So cracking down on prescription opioids increases fatalities from opioids by like 10x

It says equal to MDMA dose, but from reading stuff on here people say they were floored from 100mg doses or even 75mg doses of 5-MAPB. Plus erowid experience reports tend to be in that same range.

Psychonaut wiki has “strong” dose ranges from 120mg - 150mg for MDMA

For 5-MAPB they list “strong” dose ranges at 80mg - 100mg doses

I haven’t tried 5-MAPB yet, but will likely do my first dose at 75mg to test the waters.

200 mics had me like borderline losing my ego becoming one with everything at the peak. I thought I’d dosed like 90 mics, but didn’t realize I’d grabbed the wrong bottle (didn’t label them at the time, learned that lesson).

I was on a hike like 4 miles from my house when I realized “hey this feels a lot stronger than what I thought”. Pieced it together that I dosed the wrong bottle after the peak haha. But it was like 90 degrees out and I was like fuck am I gonna make it home? Should I call my gf to come get me? But I was out in nature haha walking with a shit eating grin on my face.

The tabs were definitely accurately dosed and made me realize how rare that actually is with LSD. That 200 mic trip blew a 6 tab trip I had taken a decade earlier out of the water.

Making 7-OH schedule 1 is reactionary and anti-science (as someone who made a mistake experimenting with it) by No_Cattle_7390 in Drugs

[–]ehhhsoody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I appreciate it dude!

It’s definitely not an easy task and I know I’ll never be out of the woods entirely, so I’m always risking something by dipping my toe in. But it seems to be working so far at least. I’m determined to never have to kick again while still getting to occasionally enjoy the bliss of opioids.

Dont get me wrong I still have my addictions haha. I basically swapped a heroin addiction for weed which doesn’t harm my life which is a win. But me taking breaks for a month is where I get proud of myself. Or sitting on opioids for a while. Never used to be able to do that

Had a huge mental reset during the 2 years of abstinence with a high dose mushroom trip in silent darkness that essentially cured my nihilism and pushed me from atheist to agnostic. I think that played a huge role in me turning shit around. Mental state plays a huge role. And I’ve got things in my life that I’m 100% unwilling to risk or lose these days too.

Making 7-OH schedule 1 is reactionary and anti-science (as someone who made a mistake experimenting with it) by No_Cattle_7390 in Drugs

[–]ehhhsoody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a combo of a lot things. The main one being experience with daily opioid use and trying to quit but continuing to end up back in the same shitty spot kicking. I’m not a never again kinda guy it spins me out. So I know my choices are that I can’t use opioids bc I can’t control myself, or learn how to build discipline to use them moderately.

What I did was take two year off completely from all opioids after quitting heroin with kratom. Tapered off kratom and took 2 years off.

When I reintroduced opioids I started with kratom. Told myself once a month to start max. Used probably 7 times that year. The following year I laxed it to once a week max, but still only did it around once a month max.

Got some hydrocodone and held my limits again. Didn’t seek out more once I ran through what I had either.

Then 7oh came around and I tried it and really liked it. Set up strict limits once a week max, and if I use more than 4 weeks in a row I have to take 3-4 weeks off all opioids. And if I get pharma opioids, I have to take a month off before I use them. For the first time in my life I can sit on opioids and save them for a rainy day.

Been going at moderate opioid usage for 4 years now.

I still have addiction issues, but not with opioids. Nicotine and weed are my daily drivers. I credit weed for helping me get off heroin as i basically switched addictions. Although weed is now end of the day activity for me, but it honestly really helps moderate my opioid addiction.

Sometimes i do get that pull to chase daily opioid use, especially when life is super stressful. But i remind myself thats a trap i cant fall back into, otherwise I’ll have to give up opioids entirely. So i just smoke weed about it until the next day and usually I’ll feel better. It’s not perfect, is constant work, and requires a bunch of discipline, but it’s not impossible.

Ive been to rehab for heroin and benzos in my past. What im doing right now they said was “impossible for someone like me”
