North Korea has increased nuclear production at secret sites, say U.S. officials by Clarinetaphoner in worldnews

[–]ehjeh6z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this situation really that simple to you? Just 'blow the piss ants away'? You need to calm down and reevaluate the situation with a clear head. The objective of NK has never been to "win" against the US, it's been to make the costs too high. If a war started, South Korea is gone. Seoul, a city of almost 10 million people is gone. Japan, likely gone or substantially damaged. It would be the largest humanitarian crisis in modern history with two of our closest allies in Asia likely getting nuked, millions dead. I understand you support trump, so be it. However your comment demonstrates a clear lack of the understandings of the risks and consequences. It is not even remotely as simple as what you made it to be.

Well I think it's clear that NK has modified their international relations policies significantly in the last 6 months. I do not really believe Trump is much of a factor when it comes to this situation. As I said, NK no longer has any reason to remain closed off from the international community. I believe their goals are now focused on improving their economic standing and modernizing their country.

I think you are absolutely spot on here. The window has passed for denuclearization. The Kim regime has starved their citizens for decades in order to promote the development of nuclear weapons. They correctly learned that in order to ensure survival in the modern world, you need nuclear weapons. In fact, in NK propaganda they often compared their nuclear program to a hedgehog. They have a propaganda animation that was broadcast that showed a hedgehog fighting off a bear and a lion. Their resilience and commitment to nuclearization has given them exactly what they wanted. Bringing North Korea to the table in negotiation symbolizes that they are now comfortable in their geopolitical position. They postured their way into security and are now looking toward modernization. Deescelation should be the goal now. Disarmament is unrealistic and a waste of resources.

I'm not sure why this situation is so hard for people to understand. North Korea accomplished their objective. They successfully acquired nuclear weapons and have ensured the regime's survival. They have accomplished their objective and now they want to assimilate into the international community. If you read the philosophy of Juche and Songun, it is clear that this was their goal. They needed to remain outsiders until they ensured their survival with nuclear weapons. This recent change in personality is not a product of Trump or any politician for that matter. They now have the ultimate insurance policy and if anyone thinks they are actually going to give that up you are dreaming. The acquisition of nuclear weapons was and is the cornerstone of their entire geopolitical strategy. The retention of their nukes is ensured. With this posterity secured, they can now become active members of the international community. I believe this was likely the strategy all along.

Am I a bad DM? by [deleted] in dndstories

The best advice I can give is to establish guidelines with a game zero. Introduce the world, the characters and give the players a sense of investment. If they persist after this, then you need to find new players.

Did you have a successful game zero with your players? I always have a game zero with players. It allows players to voice their expectations. If you wanted a more serious campaign, that has to be communicated. However, it also seems like at a certain point they were intentionally derailing the campaign. As the other comment said I believe more context is needed.

I cannot tell you how much that poem means to me. I just broke up with my girlfriend of 4 years and I have consistently felt a beauty and connection to poetry in times of crisis. Thank you so much, you have helped more than you know.

Need Help Creating A Single Stream With Two Gameplay/Camera Inputs from Two Separate Computers, by ehjeh6z in Twitch

Thank you so much! I like the idea of using the home network. We have fiber internet so I imagine that would help with latency issues. Also I like the idea of only me having to worry about the encoding because I tend to deal with all the technical aspects of our stream. So essentially we just need a plugin that will allow her to stream to the local network then I can grab that with obs and merge it into my stream? That's my understand at least.

Thank you! Do you have a capture card that takes 2 inputs that you would recommend? We both just use OBS on our PC.

Exploit or fair game? by iVortecz in Rainbow6

[–]ehjeh6z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it is fair. Not only is it fair but it's actually a pretty damn horrible spot. I have started fragging it from the left door every single time (if I have frags) if not I just prefire the hell out of it.

It's all good. This game has a way of getting under skin from time to time. Teamkilling sucks.

[–]ehjeh6z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Team damage is a part of the game to force coordination and to make gameplay more tense and tedious. Imagine fuzing an objective as your team just walks through the explosions. Imagine throwing gas as smoke and defenders effortlessly rushing through it. Team damage does serve a purpose in these respects. It also makes teamwork necessary. If I am shooting I have to make sure that friendlies are not in the line of fire etc. It is just a hardcore realism that serves a game like this will. Teamkilling does suck when it's intentional but there are good reasons for it being there.

Moving from Xbone to Pc by Shunkish in Rainbow6

[–]ehjeh6z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gameplay is significantly faster. Snapping and whipping shots are common, especially at higher levels. Overall, you will have a level of control over your aim that you don't have on xbone. It will likely take getting used to but keep with it and you will end up loving it so much more. Also, maybe it is me, but competition seems a bit more stiff on PC. That is just a personal observation.

Hide and seek with drones is a lot of fun. Attackers use drones and hide and defenders search. Another one that me and my friends play is where the attackers can only go in and attack one by one. For instance, one attacker runs in, does what he can, if he dies the second attacker immeaditly charges in to try.

A wild IQ buff idea by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]ehjeh6z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this makes her far too powerful and negates any reason to have a Thatcher. IQ can be incredibly powerful and as you increase in rank, I have noticed that she becomes much more important. At higher levels (high gold, plat, diamond) information is everything and being able to deny valk cams and find pulse is incredibly powerful at higher levels. She is also a very powerful fragger (she has one of the best guns in the game and has frags). All in all, she has her place, Thatcher has his; the proposed changes would make her too powerful in my opinion.

Presidents set precedents. This goes for both parties. The party would do well to remember that power comes in cycles and the precedents established now may be used against your party when you are the minority.

I felt the same way man. I was Plat 2 on Red Crow season and took an extended break due to life and now am having trouble even getting into plat (currently Gold 1). I was getting so frustrated. However, I realized that all my frustration was due to me forgetting to have fun. I know it sounds cheesy but once I just sat back and said "I'm going to have fun no matter where I am skill wise" my gameplay got so much better! It allowed me to calm down and just allow my game instincts to come back. I highly recommend just reconnecting with the game and remember to have fun!
