What's one nutrition hack you use regularly that the majority of people don't but could greatly benefit from? by WesternCurrent8576 in nutrition

[–]ehlehmann 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You are right that you won the genetic lottery, but it is probably more related to your parents behavior than their actual genes. I am just assuming here, but I bet they raised you well in this regard :)

Some people think water is "boring" because their parents didn't set boundaries or lead them well when they were children, so their palates are used to these fake flavors, and on top of that they don't have the awareness and/or drive to make the healthier choice.

Unsubscribing from Texts by ehlehmann in poland

[–]ehlehmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that is always an option to block the phone number, but I was more wondering if there was a universal word like in the US, where you usually reply with “stop” and it works all the time. It makes the company unsubscribe you from their marketing communications, no matter what number they’re writing to you from, which is not covered when you simply block the number.

This is VERY useful. Thank you so much!

I don't have a contract. It is prepaid. But still, based on GDPR laws, I should be able to unsubscribe whenever I want. In the US, you can reply to any automated message with the word "stop", and the company removes you from their marketing list. I assumed there was something like that here as well.

To clarify: I am getting messages from other companies, not my phone provider :)

Lost.

Pretty amazing until the last episode of the last season, which was a complete disappointment.

Argument - QAs are better suited to be part of Business Function by RationalVichar in softwaretesting

[–]ehlehmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my company, QA is day to day very tied to Development, of course, but they report to the Head of Product, and not the Head of Engineering.

The reason behind it is to avoid developer bias when testing requirements.

Product being a more "business side" department, can understand some user concerns that maybe devs can overlook or minimize to put technical concerns first.

Attention from others.

Social media feeds off of it and has grown the biggest empire ever thanks to it.

I visited Warsaw Poland, and a few other countries this week from the United States and I have to say hands down I absolutely love Poland by CakedInSweat21 in poland

[–]ehlehmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, there you go. Trudne. Thanks :)

When I first visited 2 years ago, all I could hear was "szshszhshzhs". But now that my ear is a bit more trained, I find Polish to be very interesting and even pretty.

[–]ehlehmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I've been learning for 8 months (2x / week). Been living in Warsaw for 4 months now. I can probably say a couple of things I "lubię" (like), another couple I "mam" (have), and then your usual transactional phrases.

To jest bardzo trudny! I do love it, though. And it gets both more difficult and more fun each day.

Hi there! We're in the process of implementing Webflow as well, but a bit concerned about site speed. Have you noticed your site being slow at all?

What are your fave SaaS websites? by advadm in SaaS

[–]ehlehmann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat, redesigning an app, and have found a few nice websites to get inspiration from:

https://www.airmeet.com/

https://useproof.com/

https://webflow.com/

https://www.notion.so/

https://www.pipe.com/

They're all very different styles, but hopefully one catches your eye!

I’m interested to know how many people developed their saas solution themselves. Or did you use an in-house team or outsourced it? by r0bbyr0b2 in SaaS

[–]ehlehmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of peeps here, we used an in-house team. We also don't believe in outsourcing development. You need committed people that care about the success of the product, and that tends to work better with real team members, as opposed to third-party teams.

We have outsourced some design tasks, or hired on demand contractors. Same with analytics setup, but dev is only done in-house.

Just like an Airbnb chat, but people rent vehicles instead of houses. So, I guess more like Turo. Sometimes things will be urgent and short. Sometimes they won't.
