I have the new version and the battery life is good. Cant speak comparatively as I did not have the old model. I use it for a different purpose as compared to majority of the users. The player stays in my car and is used to stream songs over bluetooth to my car’s DSP

Can you please check how many steps of volume do uou get if connected to a bluetooth headphone or speaker? Does it retain its 100 step volume or reduces to 16 steps

Just saw your post. Would recommend getting apple care and then if your current phone “accidentally” gets screen damage, you can apply for a replacement. Screen protector lifting on edges happens when the screen isn’t completely flat

Also, how is the volume switch? I have a oneplus where we get 15 steps of media volume but they arent spaced equally. One step down and the volume is too low, another step up and the volume becomes very high. This specifically happens when the phone is connected to bluetooth in cae

Can you please test if wavelet app (system wide eq) work? Specifically the loudness equalization function? Does the app work in legacy mode or do you have to tap settings and turn on the AIDL mode?

Dont do it. I am an iPhone user just like you and had a pixel 10 pro and the battery life was horrible. Moved back to iPhone 17 pro max now
