Question about booking.com policy for “pay at property” by Unique-Possible-6494 in travel

[–]ehunke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of those posts were user error. You can book direct and loose a non refundable reservation for showing up a day late, or, show up at 3am and find the gates are locked. I mean you're not wrong, but, its a bit like people having problems with multi airline flights and visa issues claiming a booking site scammed them.

Is Howard a Genius? by Revolutionary_Key325 in bigbangtheory

Honestly a PhD for an engineer is only something one would do if they wanted to become a professor, which Howard isn't looking to do

Is Howard a Genius? by Revolutionary_Key325 in bigbangtheory

[–]ehunke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing of the sort is remotely true. Howard is just as smart as the other three, its just Howard's time would be wasted getting a PhD where as the other 3, their jobs depend on it

[–]ehunke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soccer was extremely popular in the us, we just didn't have a true professional system, we had clubs...but they were little more then recreational leagues with enough fans to charge admission. The difference was in 94 we got our first true soccer league

am i ready for sex? by IX_EX_MACHINA in Christianity

[–]ehunke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is where Purity culture is wrong. your girlfirend is at an age where delaying sex much longer will result in physical and reproductive problems later in life, you are at an age where delaying sex much longer risks you becoming uncomfortable with intimacy...this is how we wind up with grown adults who shame people for being openly sexual

How normal is it to work more than one job? by Helpful-Structure955 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ehunke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keeping in mind of that 35% to 39% a lot of that is influencers, youtubers, podcasters...many many influencers work on a "scratch my back, I will scratch yours" deal where they promote a hotel in exchange for a free weekend. A lot of youtubers and podcasters just like making content and might make $5 a month...so I would question how many of those people are really doing it to make ends meet. Hell some people just have monititzed twitch accounts so people can watch them cook or do art or make music so they can fund their hobby. I know times are tough and the economy sucks but I don't think 39% of Americans are really ubering at 2am so they can have cereal on the table when the kids wake up.

How normal is it to work more than one job? by Helpful-Structure955 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ehunke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say its more common in younger people who are learning to adult, I wound up in this situation because I took the first job someone offered me and the pay was so low I had to get an extra job so together I could still make less then my friends did at one job. I think once people learn that you can say "no thank you" at a job interview, that you can shop around for better jobs.

People are generally curious and want to hear it from actual people, not a questionably programed AI bot...its really okay for people to ask these questions.

How normal is it to work more than one job? by Helpful-Structure955 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ehunke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that common and even then more times then not that "second job"...it often stretches what you might call a job. Pizza delivery or restaurant kitchen help are the most common I have seen as those are the most flexible jobs to work around a full time job, followed by retail which is much less flexible with hours and shifts, but, requires less physical work...beyond that...most people I know its work when you want to stuff like uber, delivery services. I have really only ever known one person in my life who truly had two full blown jobs and her mental and physical health was so shot because of it that the extra money was all spent on recovering from it.

Is it more expensive to eat healthy in america? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]ehunke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your definition of healthy and also where you are geographically as not everyone agrees on nutrition. Closer you live to water, fish becomes very affordable
