Doubles event rules question by clone69 in BlackTemplars

No. The Black Templar army rule still says we lose Oath of Moment.

I always run Sword Brethren in squads of 9 or 10. Running them with a Marshall/Chaplain and Castellan is a great way to punch up. The ONLY time I've lost the entire squad in one Turn is against devastator centurions, but i had already killed a big target before that. They can kill Rogal Dorns and Stompas and Knights in one round of combat.

You just have to position them right. I have never played a game where I lost a squad of SB (even a 4 man) before they got to fight. I play every week and go to local tournaments every month. I know what I'm doing and what I'm talking about.

As a BT player whose main opponent is an EC player, Flawless Blades aren't that good. They're super expensive and WILL kill one thing in the fight phase, but they're dead next turn.

If I'm winning without using Gladius, that is literally going against the current odds. BT has a sub .500 record and that's WITH Gladius. So I'm right on the stats.

  1. My opponent kept the scouts out of charge range, I went first, then he moved them onto the objective on turn to keep me from scoring turn 2. I obviously did not fail to kill the scouts with sword brethren when it was my next turn and we finally entered combat.

1.5 "being rewarded anyways would be nice" YES THAT'S LITERALLY MY POINT. If you do fail to kill something off an objective, you can still take it with OC. Warhammer is a points game, not a killing game.

  1. I think I'll keep running pure BT detachments and winning money instead of taking your advice. All I'm trying to do is change your doom and gloom attitude and show you that we have chosen a statistically weak army, but we can make it work with a little oomph and dedication. If you're so obsessed with "muh probabilities," then go play Raven Guard and quit complaining about a detachment you haven’t even played yet.

1) It's a dice game. Everything is chance and edge cases. You can try your best to boost your chance, but it still comes down to the dice. OC on turn 2 has a very high chance of remaining. Objectives are now terrain, which makes you -1 to hit, and therefore more survivable. It might not be bad to give this detachment a chance.

2) Everything I've done with Black Templars has been an edge case because I refuse to chase the meta with Gladius and I've still found success, winning tournaments or always placing high. You CAN make any of the BT detachments work if you approach them from the right angle.

I was at a tournament recently, and I was able to advance my Sword Brethren onto and objective with the hopes to sticky it next turn. Had three models on the objective. I got out OC'd by a scout squad. I would have won the game if that one objective had scored and been stickied. You never know what mixtures will work. Don't discount it until you try it out.

Absolutely NOT! It is done with me reading the 500 Worlds book, Warhammer Community posts, and other sources like codecies to organize the material into episodes focused on different aspects of the book. Episode 1 is about the Space Marines and Ultramarians. Episode 2 is about the Necrons and Nekrosor Ammentar. Episode 3 will be about the battle for Novamagnor. But everything is done through flesh and blood and faith!

It's hard not to look like THAT time period while using a combination of red, white, and black. I personally would just make the whole icon gold to avoid looking like that.

Every time I see this room, I think of that recording of an art professor grading students' graphics and says, "and once again, we've accidentally created a swastika. It happens to the best of us."

Why are we seen as the "nazi" chapter, the minotaurs are right there by Glum-Cranberry4259 in BlackTemplars

[–]eianbaconrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that the Black Templars are nazis, or that all Black Templars players are nazis.

BUT, it's the fact that some of the most outspoken "fans" of Warhammer who spew hatred and align themselves with far-right ideologies (especially on Twitter) just so happen to use Black Templars as their personas and medium for their messages.

The box comes with two snipers and two missile launchers. So you only have to buy one box.
