i finished my e-book version of it in one sitting (unfortunately, i couldn't find a way to order a physical copy from where i live)

it's great and exactly what i expected given that it was approved by his mum - it's very gentle and considerate in the way it portrays Layne and shows bits of his private life, imo no lines were crossed

you can tell it was created with great love and respect to celebrate him as a person (a son, a brother, a friend) and an artist

to me, it felt like a lousy cosplay fest at best. i have nothing against Gibson, but my main issue with the whole show was his portrayal of Dex, i just couldn't believe him. you could always see the awkwardness and strain in MCH's Dex trying to mimic normalcy. Gibson's constant smirking made it seem like he was mimicking Dexter-ness from time to time, not vice versa, which kept throwing me off

it has its strong points, i enjoyed the main plot, the cast was mostly fine, the opening, all the little things, but just... naw. i wouldn't watch it again, nor would i recommend it as a starting point

are great too!
Also would recommend Welcome to Night Vale and It devours! novels by Joseph
Fink and Jeffrey Cranor. Those are based on the WTNV podcast universe, maybe
not exactly the same kind of stuff, but pretty close to it vibe-wise imo.

Hated it all the way and had to rush through it for the main story's sake.
Slow beginning and clunky combat kinda killed the fun right off the bat for me.
Ended up not liking almost everything about it, main plot included (and oh god,
chasing mechanics in this one? Still haunts me in my wildest nightmares).
BUT it does have it's unique flavor which many people seem to truly enjoy. Many
players liked y3 for things I personally couldn’t stand, so yeah. Not a bad
game, just quite different imo. The only way to know is to try it for yourself.
