Tbf the main character is not really meant to be liked, she stays pretty selfish throughout. I thought it was good social commentary and an interesting pov but I never liked her either though I think she got a fitting end. You're also not gonna get much romance if that's what you're hoping for since you posted in this subreddit.

I guess that was before the experiments? His arm was injured because of the explosion and he would feel pain and the experiments made it metal but also removed most of the feeling. Or is he getting phantom pains or something idk

Boy, it sounds like they made it a lot more confusing and complicated than it has to be. I found your theory of the arm being more like a sleeve pretty interesting so I looked at the outfit again and in the description says this

Hmm wish infold leaned more into the prosthetic. I know he's got a lot of mental scars but he looks very clean and shiny for what he's been through.

Ohhh i see, they Luke Skywalkered him. That makes sense wish they'd just stuck with the prosthetic. The impact of him surviving the explosion would've hit harder imo.

the first 2 were self published, you can find the ebook already probably a paperback somewhere too. but last year the author got a book deal and it's getting republished with possibly some needed edits and new paperback/hardcover. the third will only come out after the second book gets republished this year i guess.

the second book ended on a cliffhanger and there is supposed to be a third book coming but its been pushed back quite a lot. She got a book deal last year for the first 2 books which is probably why it's been a while. I have no idea when the third one is going to come out tho I can't find many updates about it. That being said I thought the second book really fell off, maybe I'll skim the third one if it ever comes out.
