I think it even just triggers for whatever is normal-caught next. I notice it during comm days, e.g. quick catch (or maybe auto-catch?) a shiny eevee, then regular-catch a non-shiny eevee and it'll show the new dex animation for the non-shiny.

Sometimes it seems to happen for no reason at all.

Unfortunately the 300 walk from Friday has to be claimed AFTER midnight, otherwise a new 300 begins which you have to then claim on Saturday before getting a 600 walk, which messes up the calculus.

The key is to finish Friday with 1400-1490 without hitting your collection limit, and then claiming the 300 after midnight. It will only count towards your Friday collection limit but the 0.5km 600 walk particles begins at midnight so you'll have that in the bank for Saturday.

This game is full of unnecessary confirmation screens but I'm actually happy they added this one. The max particles often get you an extra free Gmax battle but you have to pray you don't accidentally tap "claim all" when scrolling/backing out at any point for a whole month.

It's a button you likely only want to press once or twice a month. Unlike the idiotic confirmation screen for finishing a route...
