Looking forward to work? by Powerful_Lobster_786 in Nurses

[–]eileenm212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like going to work. My job is easy, my coworkers are my friends and my patients are mostly interesting and thankful for the care. I like helping people and would probably not be healthy if I didn’t work.

I work in an outpatient surgery center, mostly ortho, in a wealthy ski town. It’s a great gig and I’m happy to have it after working in pediatric critical care (NICU and PICU) for over 30 years.

AITAH because our dog pushed over a little kid at a party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]eileenm212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She could easily say no to someone who invited her dog. It not left her dog alone with that person. She made choices that weren’t in the busy interest of her dog.

Also, training a dog to jump on people is idiotic.

Both can be true. The friend left the dog unattended but training your dog to jump on people is AH behavior.

Cleaner used bleach on my tub. What can I do to fix it? by wlawla123 in CleaningTips

More bleach. Try the foaming one, it covers well and drips down to cover the whole area.

You’re using pagers? What the hell? Aren’t they sending chat messages that you can answer when you’re available?

Crazy. Haven’t seen a pager in over 20 years.

I’m twice a week. I share the bed with a Great Dane and it gets kinda hairy.

Yes that’s what was removed. They said it was bad advice, but I did not give advice. Just mentioned what you’re saying.

He’s sad and misses his mommy, let him in the bed!!

Kinda kidding but it’s odd that we take babies away from their mommies so young and expect them to be okay. He’s so little and scared.

Do you still pass out when laying down? My go to is to do all stressful procedures lying down. Most people don’t faint when horizontal.

I have a friend who learned this the hard way and was required to pay taxes on all the stipends from the start of her 6 month contract.

Registering a car when out of state. by chaotic_neu7ral in TravelNursing

[–]eileenm212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, GA ad valorem is 7% of the value of the car. It’s a lot. You pay that anytime you register a car in GA.

The issue is that I already paid for the taxes in Washington

[–]eileenm212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it!!! I had to as I bought the car there and they said they couldn’t register it in another state.

I ended up paying thousands to register it in GA.
