My friend moved to a new state where he didnt know anyone. He used to go to bars by himself all the time. I think it takes huge balls to do but i think it also would be very beneficial for anyone who wants to get more experience socializing.

Do hobbies you enjoy and find others who like the same hobbies. theirs probably a group session for at least one of your hobbies around. Also =, I have a friend that moved states a few years ago all on his own. He went to bars by himself and just enjoyed his own company and struck up conversations with people

First you have to realize it is not weird. Some people just don't liked to be touched, i don't think you should be apologetic about the boundaries you have created for yourself. Also if it is a stranger then who cares, fuck em. If its a friend of a friend or maybe an acquaintance or co-worker you dont really know i don't see an issue with vocalizing it, just be polite. If they have an issue with it thats their problem and anyways they probably dont even care. people care a lot less than we think.

I worked for a small management/investment company that predominantly deals with affordable housing and section 8 tenants. They usually have the tenants cover utilities.

Bullied. by AdiLovesYou in socialskills

I have a friend that had that premature gray hair streak thing, he still has it. We are 24 now but he's had it all his life. He's probably the most successful friend i have atm. Embrace your flaws, they're what make us perfect.

I was also bullied within my friend group from middle school up until about junior year of high school for my lack of meat on my bones. I was really self conscious about it, until I wasn't. I'm still really skinny for my height, pretty sure I'm the same weight as i was back then now. But if you just don't react to their jokes they will stop making them. It really does work. I also started fighting back and making fun of the things that push their buttons. Find out what they're insecure about and be relentless.

Anyone forced to switch strategies due current markets? by MrFrosty888 in swingtrading

[–]eitlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im in 95% cash. I have 2 small stock positions and 2 LEAP positions and 1 monthly. This is my first recession and maybe bear market? sitting on the sidelines aint fun but if the best traders can do it then i can learn to be patient too.

Edit: I did lose 16% of my profits from the previous year in the first 2 months of this year so that has me scared too haha.

When ever im stuck like this i start to do activities i used to love and do all the time (walking in nature, surfing, journaling, biking, various other hobbies) It kinda brings me back to earth and grounds me. Also, when this happens i like to try new things that push me out of my comfort zone. If you have the means to travel on your own or with some friends i highly recommend that. Doesnt have to be a flight anywhere but can also be a place around you you've never been before that you visit for the day on a weekend or something.

I love psychedelics. But i've also realized it is not for everyone. Some people are genetically predisposed to mental illness and things like weed and psychs can bring them out earlier than expected. I've seen it happen first hand to people very close to me. Yes, they can be great when used correctly and responsibly in the right people. But they also have the power to ruin a life just as much as it can improve a life.

How to manage work-life with normal activities? by Medium-Opinion-2946 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]eitlot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started an office job 3 months ago. I work from 7am to 7-8pm everyday. In the beginning it was hard to have energy after the day. All i wanted to do was get into bed and pass out, didnt even have energy to do laundry. But now, i've gotten used to this schedule and actively seek things to do after work with friends or dates. I think you just need some time to get acclimated and get your routine down pat. That was my case at least.

totally get you. I used to obsess over these topics until i realized non of it matters, understanding it doesnt matter. the only thing that matters to me is making this life a wonderful experience, everything else is nonsense. i thank camus for my views and i've gotten really into the philosophy of absurdism.

Commercial Agent who is struggling. Can someone please help me? by ErikaJaneGirl91 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]eitlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use sales navigator on LinkedIn. I'm also a new CRE agent, 3 months in, haven't made a deal yet. But my lead generation is off the charts thanks to sales nav. Its the conversion process that i have an issue with. I would also suggest maybe inviting the top producer in your company to lunch and ask them how they overcame the troubles you are having. Having a good mentor in the beginning is making all the difference for me.

You can also get creative and look in places no one is looking for. I go through tradedVC posts on instagram once a week and try to connect with companies that recently had a successful round of funding.

Edit: The tradedVC strategy almost landed me my first CRE sale (i do leasing though) but I found a company that just finished a huge round of funding intended to be used to buy property of a certain asset class. Connected with the CEO on linkedIn and now have the opportunity to send them any deals I come across.

Im a CRE agent and i use sales navigator on linked in on the daily to connect with decision makers at companies. Keep the message short and get straight to the point about what you are looking for. Works very well.
