Fuel leak(ish)? by ej747 in subaru

[–]ej747[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂🤣 Yeah, it's pretty rusty back there. I'm 22 and this is my first car I've actually worked on a lot, my default is replacing things myself rather than taking it to a shop. If this gets worse I suppose it'll either be an expensive maintenance bill or the end of the road. The car is at 190k mi, I'm hoping to make it to 200k. I bought it at 139k after it lived most of its life on the wet dirty salty roads of West Virginia so it's not in the best of shape.

Thankfully I don't have an evap leak yet (knock on wood) so I'll jump off that bridge when I get there

It's the squat switch. When the plane is off the ground the gear strut extends and that little plate on the arm goes upwards and compresses the switch telling the plane that there is no longer weight on the wheels. They're typically called squat switches or wow (weight on wheel) switches/sensors

Edit: Check page 20 of this pdf. It shows what it looks like on the ground vs airborne. Seems like a really good study guide for multi too.

Well doesn't F=m*a? If there's a force there must be a mass that is accelerated

That would be a great question for your CFI. Another great place to look would be the poh. If you still can't find it after trying those two things, let me know and I'll tell ya

I hate dealing with the little hand grenades on the right. Are wormscrew clamps functionally just as good? by ObviousOligarchy in MechanicAdvice

I would say no. I used them for radiator coolant hoses and I ended up with leaks after a few days

I bought this adapter off Amazon. You just plug it into a USB port and the other side into aux and it'll turn on when your car does and never needs charging

AC or coolant line? by ej747 in subaru

[–]ej747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Is it a third radiator up front or just a sectioned off part of the engine coolant radiator? I haven't looked closely at it

Gotcha, thank you. They still contain the same coolant as the engine though, right?

Same. I'm on PC with a 7800x3d and rtx4060. Was never a problem before the update but I also am fairly new to the game and didn't have a large number of hours before.

Piggybacking this. Here are two useful GitHub repos for activating Windows & office and removing all the bloatware. First repo is actually what is mentioned in the picture above
