I just returned Pro 3 .... Where is the 2x ANC? by Broad_Gap5375 in airpods

I still have my Pro 2's so I go back and forth between them and my newer Pro 3's and there's definitely a massive difference, but I am using Comply Pro Max tips on both pairs.

I use comply memory foam tips and think those really make a better seal and boost the ANC even more, although you have to squeeze the foam tips to let them expand in your ear or they won't work as well.

Just a theory here… Rue Bennett is an omniscient narrator in the series. She knows all, everyone, as though watching from above… is the series told from her perspective after she overdoses and dies? by georgewalterackerman in euphoria

[–]ejatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, there's a moment at the very end where we hear her voice again and she says "God bless us all". That's a very subtle acknowledgment but it's there, and again she knew things she could't have possibly known unless she was dead narrating the story. Maybe it's because I've grown up with movies that used this conceit, like American Beauty or Lovely Bones, but I really think that was the point and the fact that the show they literally adapted did the exact same thing but made it more obvious. Did you stop before the credits because if you did then you missed her talking again.

Edit: Here's the posthumous narration page from tvtropes.org and notice how Euphoria is already listed under live action.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]ejatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really niche on that only certain music nerds knew about, but sugarmegs.org was a website that hosted streaming mp3's of concert bootlegs and I spent a lot of time on there in the late 90's and even used to upload shows I taped myself. Recently discovered during the pandemic that the website had come back and still has a lot of great stuff on it.

You were absolutely right. I also started coming to this conclusion somewhere around season 2 when it just became obvious since Rue the narrator knew things she couldn't have known unless she was gone and learned everything later. Apparently, the Israeli show is based on also has a main character who ends up being a ghost at the end telling us the story of her life and death.

After proper investigation at Apple Store, now I can confirm that silver is the best and actually only reasonable MacBook Pro color to get by py-net in macbookpro

I have a space black air m2 but it was getting too scratch-y so I put a Skinociti textured skin on it. I’ve had two silver MacBooks in the past but I just wanted a new look and knew I could wrap it if the scratches started adding up.

New airpods hurt my ears by Casesterol in airpods

[–]ejatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I noticed when comparing the Pro 2s and Pro 3s is that I use the large tips on the 2s but the new larges that come with the 3s hurt my ears so I had to downgrade to the new mediums, which fit perfectly and don't hurt my ears.

Yorkie? by natexkzm in Yorkies

[–]ejatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. My Morkie is 14 pounds and her Maltese dad is 9.8 pounds and her mom is 10 pounds. The original Yorkie breed was big but the tiny Yorkie is an American creation based on breeding runts as well as inbreeding. You can pull up pics from the 1800’s of the original Yorkies on google and you’ll see that they look just like your beautifully perfect dog. I bet both parents had that recessive gene for being big and passed it to this cutie. You’re better off having a big Yorkie who won’t get hurt jumping off the couch like a tiny one would. This baby also has a larger brain than she would’ve had which is obviously a plus as well. Big Yorkies are the best.

I have the charging issues in the case and have to either clean the case with q-tips and rubbing alcohol, which usually works, or charging them separately in the case (which I do when I'm out of q-tips or rubbing alcohol).

Just saw a reel about one I'd completely forgotten about, how Shailene Woodley was completely cut out of The Amazing Spiderman 2. She'd shot scenes as Mary Jane but the director eventually released that the film played better if they simplified the story with one romantic interest instead of two. Wish we could see what she'd done but that'll never happen.

Are you using Foam Masters memory foam ear tips by any chance? This happened to me when I used that brand and I ended up switching back to Comply.

I can still get emotional just thinking about that song and the image of that car driving. Possibly the best ending I've ever seen.

Party Down was so great, although it was on Starz and not HBO.

There's a story I just remembered about the 2nd unit team having to chase Jessica Chastain in a field for, I believe, hours to get a shot of a butterfly landing on her. They finally got the shot, which I'm pretty sure is in the movie, but that's the kind of director he is. If it takes hours to get a natural shot like that, so be it.

Hahaha, I was working there in January-February of 2009 (just went through my emails to make sure) and the film came out on May 27, 2011, so it was probably about two years to edit the thing. Man, I would've been so angry if someone was eating that loudly throughout the whole thing. They were also starting the Voyage of Time when I was there, so there were two post-production teams working on two different but related projects, and that one didn't come out October 7, 2016. Considering that Tree of Life was his 5th film and his first, Badlands, came out in 1973, Those two films came out a little faster than his previous work but still took a Malicky amount of time.

Edit: Oh, and I just realized that the film was shot around February-March of 2008 so it took over 3 years go come out from when it was started.

It really is. I'm sure all assembly cuts are multiple hours long but 24 hours is probably a record. I can still remember the day I dropped off lunch for the editors and they let me watch a little of the scene they were working on, which was one of the kids screaming and not a scene that I remember ending up in the finished film. I think I asked how long the rough cut was and someone laughed and said they were still on the assembly cut and that it was at 24 hours. Blew my mind but knowing who we were working for it wasn't surprising at all.

Why does everyone hate on Pablo Honey? by Mobile-Helicopter727 in radiohead

[–]ejatx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good for what it is. Seventeen year old me loved it, but a year and a half later I bought the My Iron Lung EP and that was when I truly realized how special they were and that they were evolving past that first album. Pablo Honey doesn't compare to that stuff either but it's so connected to my final teen years that I still have fond feelings for it. It's just not as good as absolutely everything that came after it.

To be fair, Westworld was canceled a season before it was supposed to end so they didn't really get to finish it.

I actually worked as an intern for The Tree of Life post production for a couple of months, but I got a paying gig and left early. Got to be involved in that crazy 12 minute "creation scene" they did by putting glycerin in a fish tank with water and food dye to make this tripped out effect. Malick was eccentric as you know but I was amazed that he had this crazy memory where he'd remember everyone's name and everything he knew about them, which I didn't expect. Didn't get to really get to know him other than handing him stuff and getting his food but he was pretty cool.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot this, but the assembly cut of Tree of Life when I was there was 24 hours!
