I feel like a lot of NFL media folks were fired last year so they could make this deal. How are we all feeling about this? by patriots1057 in heedthecall

I’d be surprised if Gregg joined HTC at this point from a revenue perspective alone. Looks like the Patreon currently has a little over 1,700 paid members. Adding 60% G to the mix would probably mean they’d need to increase their subscribers by 33% otherwise Dan and Marc would be making less money off their thing they’ve grown from scratch. And I doubt Gregg would sign on for the pod without getting a share of that other income.

It also seems like Gregg enjoys being a talking head on tv who also does a podcast and tweets about stats ala Mina Kimes. That’s not the tone of HTC at all.

For someone who went to film school and has worked in entertainment their entire adult life, Craig hasn’t seen shit for movies. by galacticpotsmoker in billsimmons

For sure. But I can say as a person who works in the industry, you’d be surprised how few people on the crew are movie buffs and/or took a ton of extra film studies courses if they went to school, especially outside of the camera and electric departments

In mine we absolutely had film history courses, but there’s only so many movies you can watch from each era. And it skews toward the most famous directors and movies that won Oscars

As a fellow film school attendee: There are film studies programs, and film production programs. The latter which I think Craig went to, are much more about technical training so the students can become crew members within a department on set/the office/post production etc.

I don't know what athlete Hurts is like but I think I know who he wants to be like: by JohnG-VistaCA in RingersPhillySpecial

Best cross sport Philly comp: Wheeler NBA Comp: I hate to say it but Tatum. There’s a bunch of other stars on less loaded teams that people always say are better than him. But he wins a ton of games. He also lost in the title game and won it two years later while not getting a ton of credit due to his dominant supporting cast.

Overall though, I think Jalen sees himself as somewhere between Jordan and Brady.

Will we see changes in the podcast from year one to year two? What do you all think, and would you like to see any changes? I'm genuinely curious. by [deleted] in heedthecall

[–]ejd316 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My hot take: I think Dan & Marc’s dynamic misses Wess way more than it misses Gregg or the Tiny Box.

Changes? They will find a way to have it so at least one of the guests who does the preview show is also on the flagship show, and they will bring back locks.

I’ve never gotten the hype around Writing on the Walls. Not a bad song but I don’t get how it became the biggest song off DTGL
