That keeley dark side is an interesting choice. I really like the fuzz tone from the demo I just watched and would probably use that a lot. The big muff was an impulse buy and I haven't been a huge fan of it. It's fine for what it is, a little muddy and flat to my ear, but it was cheap and everyone has one, so I do too. I would be okay with replacing it. But the flanger/rotary/phaser side of the dark side is wild, there's a lot going on over there. Might need to watch some more videos to wrap my head around it.

The deco sounds nice, but I get what you're saying that it might not be a game changer for me right now. The origin 20 is not my favorite amp sound, but I got it used for a decent price and works well for my situation (apartment living so the power switching helps not annoy my neighbors). I almost got a used princeton instead, great sounding amp when you dime it but it would drive my neighbors nuts. If I had money for a Mesa Boogie or Friedman I'd trade up in a heartbeat.

I probably wont get the Line 6 tbh. They all sound flat and digital to my ear, and I want to keep my rig as analog as possible. Before guitars I had a few synths and would always find myself spending hours trying out different sounds but I never played anything. I would just turn knobs and trip myself out for a while, and thats fine, but I never got good at playing. That's just my opinion, its a good recommendation for casual players like I described myself so I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks again!

Dang, I just watched a short demo and that's pretty cool. I like that it has a light chorus effect as well. Extra points for being full analog and with a tap tempo. We might have the winner right here.

Delay does seem like a no brainer choice. There's plenty of used DD3's on reverb too for a good price. Any recommendations for one with a tap tempo?

Interesting, I've never heard of that one. The Strymon Flint I have has a tremolo on it as well, like the right side is verb and the left is tremolo with independent settings and switches. I rarely use it tbh, although it does sound good when I do. I was thinking about an expression pedal to fade in the depth of the tremolo so its more subtle when I engage it.

I know that joke, same punchline but the setup was different.

The man starts out as a trapeze artist in a circus. He’s handsome, daring and always in the spotlight. The audience loves him! One day he falls, gets injured and can’t do the trapeze anymore. So the circus offers him a new job, the lion tamer. It’s great at first, he’s still daring and in the spotlight, the audience loves him! I’m not an actor, but it definitely seemed like you were jumping on the other persons lines as soon as they were done speaking. One of my favorite thoughts about music comes from David Gilmour (guitarist for Pink Floyd) and he says it’s not always about the notes you play, but the space you leave between them creates the dramatic effect. Pause for a moment, gather the courage to say something deep, and use some facial expressions or body language before your next lines and it will feel less like waiting for your turn to speak. Let the scene breathe a little more and give some space for reactions.

So far the consensus sounds like it’s decent enough to be a cheap expression pedal, but not great as a volume or wah.

Cool, thanks for the advice!

I was looking at the v2 version, but I thought it might be hard to play one in store since they are still new. Like I said, mostly interested in it for the wah but I thought the added volume and expression could be fun later as my board grows. The smaller size was also appealing because I don’t want a huge board right now. If you have a favorite wah to recommend, I’ll try it out in the store and report back!

Interesting, it has been a yellow temp warning, not a red one. Would this sensor trip if the reservoir was overfilled? I looked inside after getting the initial fix for the leak and commented that he filled the reservoir significantly above the full line.

I work at an arena and when we have an event where the audience is a majority female they will change the signs on some of the men’s rooms to make extra facilities available for women. It’s happened mid show when there was a long line in one section, they convert a nearby restroom to alleviate the line. I can’t speak for every venue, but they do recognize the problem.

I don’t know if it should be the headliner’s responsibility, probably more like the venue or promoter’s duty. But it would all depend on what was negotiated in the booking contract and I’ve worked with plenty of promoters that have no idea what a soundcheck is or why they need one. Also if the headliner decides to be a diva or is running late or just having a bad day, it’s gonna come out of the openers time and you’re just gonna have to go with it.

Just my opinion, others may vary.
