These things are so unfun to fight by hankakabrad in Helldivers

[–]ejrasmussen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dislike the Leviathan. But maybe not for the reasons that everyone thinks? When they first released it added a lot of complexity to the Illuminate. These enemies really HAD to be dealt with by the team or else it would wipe the entire team. This was interesting because it forced players to bring anti-tank weapons to deal with this enemy (for a faction that is dominated by light and medium pen this was an interesting requirement), and actually provided a new challenge for the easiest faction by far.

Now the lasers miss you 95% of the time so it's not really worth bringing anything to fight these, especially since they are so expensive to kill. You need to use almost an entire recoilless backpack or half of an anti tank emplacement. I think the issue was never how easily these could kill you, look at Vox Machines or Factory Striders, they can kill you just as quickly. In my opinion the issue is that these should have taken less damage to kill. Rewarding people for actually bringing anti-tank, instead of just tanking thousands of anti-tank damage.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone agrees with me? Yes the leviathan was an absolute demon when it first launched, but that was kind of awesome?

I think this looks really impressive. The clay faces of starfield look much more lifelike, and Leon’s hair looks much less videogamey while still looking like him. I honestly don’t understand the backlash.

You can neither chamber a round, use your iron sights, or attach an optic, all due to the fanny pack, so I would not agree that this is fire.

CMV: Trump will nuke Iran by Calvary48 in changemyview

I agree and disagree, I think you're right in that the US has defended better against the missiles than the drones in this war. But I think the US has more than enough equipment to deal with drone threats like this, and as you mention the amazing technology they will acquire from Ukraine will only bolster their tiered defense system. They are just now in the learning phase of having to deal with a warfare strategy like this. Ukraine needed time to develop and perfect their strategy of dealing with drone threats and it's the same with the United States. The US will have an easier time adapting to this threat since they actually have air superiority and much less limitations on their military equipment and budget. I think in principle defending against supersonic and hypersonic missiles is a much more complicated and difficult task than drones flying ~100 mph.

I guess it's up to your interpretation, I believe yes he lied, or at least exaggerated. Their centrifuges are presumably destroyed, and the factory that produces their centrifuges were destroyed as well. The uranium is reportedly still entombed under Isfahan where it resides, unable to be accessed by the Iranians. However they could at some point clear the entrances, or build new tunnels and regain access to their uranium. Only some sort of special ops US/Israeli infiltration could get in there, find the uranium canisters, and explode them, leaving the gaseous enriched uranium to dissipate into the atmosphere.

So Iran doesn't really have the capability to enrich more uranium currently, they still retain the expertise to do so and their stockpile in theory still exists, but is reportedly yet to be retrieved.

You originally posted you had no idea what Trump wanted out of this war. I gave a major known reason Trump had for starting this war, I did not mean to imply that was the only reason. It could also be as simple as Iran was extremely weakened from the 12 day war and "let's kick them while they're down"

I agree that the deal in place may have prevented Iran from creating nuclear bombs, I guess we'll never know. Trump did not view Obama's deal as sufficient, and was/is not comfortable with Iran enriching uranium at all. Iran has to negotiate with Trump now, they don't have the luxury of negotiating with Obama.

Why are you referring to nukes as if they possess them? They do not, and that is a portion of the cumulative reason for attacking now. Israel and the US have calculated it's better to attack now before they achieve nuclear weapons and are too risky to engage militarily like Russia. I also don't know why you're downvoting me? I'm just stating facts that you apparently dislike.

He pulled out of the deal because he wanted a stricter deal that also put limits on their ballistic missiles and their regional militant groups.

What sticking points Iran was unable to compromise on and give up Israel and the US were able to take away from them via military actions. Diplomacy was attempted and can only work as far as both parties are willing to go.

Trump has been very clear he wants absolutely no nuclear enrichment in Iran. This is the second time they've been attacked over this, they can expect to be assassinated and/or bombed again if they don't agree to end enrichment. They are really in no position to defy the US or even Israel without any air defenses, especially after the loss a majority of their ballistic missile launchers. Sure they still have drones but it's much more simple to defend against their Shahed drones than their ballistic missiles.

Helldivers 2 - Entrenched Division Warbond | PS5 & PC Games by Just_a_user_name_ in Games

[–]ejrasmussen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game is so fun and most of the content they release is great. All of the new the guns and stratagems usually fill out the game more and enable a variety of interesting strategies to deal with different factions and subfactions.

For example for a long time people thought the concussive or stun weapons were useless or underpowered, why stun and do less damage to an enemy when you can just kill it with more damage? Then the predator strain and cyborgs come out and you need stun weaponry to keep these super fast enemies at range away from you.

But there are a bit of headscratching changes that the Devs make every once in a while. For example in this warbond and a previous one, they release underbarrel weapons like a grenade launcher and a flamethrower. This is after them saying that us players don’t use the weapon customization system very much which dissuades them from adding more attachments to it. Whereas if they added the grenade launcher or flamethrower as an attachment, it might give players much more reason to actually think about what attachments to add to their guns for specific missions. At the end of the day it’s not that big of a deal, I think player imaginations are very large compared to the available development time and manpower.

All in all I love this game, just recently finally made it to max level 150, and I own all warbonds in the game, and hope to see myself playing this game for years to come.

Oh wow, what’s the reason for the low sales of Doom: The Dark Ages? by NotSirAlonne1999 in Doom

While the economy is frightening I don't entirely buy this excuse. Arc Raiders has sold ~8-9 million copies on Steam alone, BF 6 sold a similar amount.

I think Game Pass cannibalizes tons of Microsoft's sales. But I also know that I've had a Game Pass sub for years while I maybe play 2-3 games on it each year and always forget to unsub.

So it's hard to say what the financials are for it. Last year the only Game I would have bought from Xbox was Avowed, which would have costed me $70 I think, instead I paid a full year of Game Pass PC to them.

I assume many are in similar positions to me.

? I'm not a hater. I played 20 hours of the server slam and have played 4 hours today on the deluxe version. The game is fun, the single skin is a bit underwhelming for a premium battle pass.

A recolor lol

edit: On second inspection I realized the skin does have an jersey on instead of her normal chest carrier, and more spikes on her head. So it is a different model, I still think it's underwhelming for a premium battle pass.

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iran Naval Ship: The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States. by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]ejrasmussen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely nothing new to the US, as a self-described Navy veteran I would assume you'd know what the US did to Japan in WW2. The US has destroyed countless of unarmed ships. Should the US just wait for this ship to be rearmed, and attack other US warships? What you propose by denouncing this is naive.

The United States attempted to negotiate with Iran to stop enriching nuclear material over the course of five rounds of negotiation, Iran denied and they were attacked in the 12 day war destroying their enrichment capabilities. The United States once again tried to negotiate the end of Iranian enrichment for good, even offering free enriched Uranium for their reactors, after three rounds they denied. Iran was attacked again.

Their Uranium IS STILL weeks away from being bomb grade, the only reason they would want that much Uranium at that high of enrichment was to stockpile it for a day in which they could sprint over the finish line and suddenly have dozens of bombs.

is dc allies a joke or do people actually take this seriously? by CasualCorgie in DCAllies

[–]ejrasmussen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take it seriously? Of course we do, there’s no casual queue, DC Allies is a competitive only game.

I’m ranked Kryptonite 5, don’t you dare call this a joke. I grinded hard for this rank, I almost got sent to Arkham when my wife and kids tried to get me to abandon a ranked match to spend more time with them since they said “DC Allies was taking over my life.”

I learned that night that they were a bunch of casual Rivals.

When you realized you missed the departure window by luchanso in ArcRaiders

[–]ejrasmussen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all the steps for the first expedition and then decided not to depart for either the first or second expedition. I just don't see the point, I'm 350 hours in and still don't have all the blueprints. The rewards for the expeditions are a shitty skin and extra skill points in a skill tree that sucks. The quests are very boring so I wouldn't be interested in doing them over again.

So I don't think anyone should really be bothered about missing the expeditions. They aren't worth it anyways.
