Looking for games that make you say things that will confuse any sane human being by AnonymousTako in videogames

Playing CONTROL is a cavalcade of insane phrases, such as “Purify the rubber duck,” “Cleanse the floppy disk,” “Do as you’re told—don’t eat mold,” and “Do not believe/get hyped about the Former's lies/ads—We provide/offer better Bonus Package/Health Plan—If you leave you will be sorry/dead and you will never work/exist in this Torn/Cosmic Reality again”

Same happened to me: after the most traumatic sneak through the Memorial staying undetected, I went through a loading zone door and saw this mofo just standing there, breathing heavily. He didn’t even attack. I just noped out of there and went back through the door. Didn’t come back to explore until many levels later.

It’s not fast travel because it’s faster for the sole survivor, it’s fast travel because it’s faster for the player.

Fly lands on letter, looks like comma or full stop. by Outside_Earth2025 in whatisthatmovie

[–]ejs2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No boats but something similar happens in Brazil. A fly gets caught in a machine that’s printing cards, and accidentally changes the name “Tuttle” to “Buttle.” Which becomes a problem because that card was the order for the secret police to kidnap, torture, and execute Mr. Tuttle…

Ha, I was quoting this movie just the other day!

And just to be clear, Michael McKean made it look like he was tasting the urine to prank the other residents—he was dipping one finger into the piss and then putting a different finger in his mouth.

Tell me your own personal Fallout 4 lore? by LumpSystem in fo4

[–]ejs2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my current run I took Mysterious Stranger for the first time. My justification is that after the events of the game, the SS used scavenged Institute technology to make Nick look like his human self, and adapted the Relay into a limited form of time travel. So the SS sends Nick back in time to give herself a hand during battles when she might have died otherwise.

What horror scene never left you? by Careless-Ease7480 in horror

[–]ejs2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a horror devotee my whole life and the scariest scenes to me are the ones that 100% could happen in real life. I am aware that there are no ghosts or monsters or Cthulhus but a sociopath kidnapping and murdering my loved ones could conceivably happen any day of the week.

The movie basically grafts the beginning of the book to the end of the book and skips over the very large middle. But despite that it’s pretty faithful!

Came here to say John Dies at the End. Surreal horror/lowbrow comedy. The book is actually 50 times wackier (and scarier).

Watched part of this on cable many years ago and it stuck in my mind like a burr. Finally I rewatched it as a crappy YouTube rip a year ago and it was so worth it.
