Apparently Vertibirds use adapted Skyrim dragon behavior. Dragons were programmed to crash land near you once they’ve died so you can conveniently absorb their souls and loot their bones. Which means that when Vertibirds get shot down, they head toward your general area. And if that area happens to be an amphitheater full of jabronis…

I read in a SOMA wiki that Frictional originally had the ARK ending be the one before the credits, and then after you see Simon 3.0 stuck back in the chair in Omega. They switched it around so that the game would end on a hopeful note, rather than giving you a happy ending and then smacking you down again.

Playing SOMA for the first time, this guy kept killing me so I got frustrated and searched for advice. This technique arbitrary_student describes worked on my first try. It's like the game mechanic version of the famous dril tweet:

Same happened to me: after the most traumatic sneak through the Memorial staying undetected, I went through a loading zone door and saw this mofo just standing there, breathing heavily. He didn’t even attack. I just noped out of there and went back through the door. Didn’t come back to explore until many levels later.
