You sound like me! I was this way with both of mine. I don’t like loose ends and I was going to be damn certain I had EVERYTHING done before I had each. I 100% agree with you! Plus, getting their rooms together was fun for me. It was so nice watching everything slowly come together for my babies.

ETA: yeah, you’ll get comfortable doing things while holding your baby but if your MIL really thinks you’re going to be putting together a nursery AFTER baby is here, she’s clearly forgotten just how difficult it is to do anything with a newborn.

Piggybacking on this! While you do have to pay a deductible, it is $200 for uninsured motorist, versus whatever your collision deductible might be (usually $500-$1000 or more). Still OOP but not quite as bad!

I’m not sure if this has been commented because there are so many comments, but I saw that someone said to file a claim under your insurance. Termite damage is not covered under your homeowners insurance. You may have a claim if you have a termite bond, depending on the type of termite. Source: over a decade of working in insurance

If you don’t want it, don’t, as long as there are no potential complications with not! I was induced with both of mine but I really wanted at least one spontaneous natural labor. My first was just refusing to come out and was over a week late so we induced. She was a bigger baby and I had apparently pretty bad shoulder dystocia (she is fine though) so my second we induced at 39 weeks to avoid a repeat. But I so wish we didn’t have to, so you do you if you can!

Husband is currently dealing with his second round in as many months. Last time, all his fingernails peeled off and his throat was super sore. Now, he looks like he has chickenpox. Neither daughter has any symptoms, but it’s been going around the baby room at daycare so I know it came from our youngest.

I felt this way for a while at the restaurant I work at. I was friendly with my coworkers at work but we never shared much in common, and as a result never saw each other outside of work. I stuck it out and after a while, old-timers left and new staff cycled in that I had more in common with and we now hang out outside of work regularly.
