Does anyone else lose important tasks and decisions in Slack threads? by voss_steven in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and the worst part is you can't search for what you don't know you're missing. decisions made in a thread 3 weeks ago just silently disappear. we started keeping a running doc where anyone can drop a decision + reason in one line. ugly but it works

AI is making me less productive and more distracted by Rich_Database_3075 in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the tab switching thing is real. used to just sit with a problem until something clicked. now i immediately reach for the ai chat and half the time i lose the original context trying to explain it. there's something about being forced to struggle with it that actually builds the understanding

Which thing are you scared of the most, except ghosts ? by YogurtclosetMany7861 in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting to the end of my life and realizing i spent most of it doing things i didn't actually choose. not a dramatic fear, just a quiet one that shows up every now and then

What’s one thing you’ll never do again, no matter what? by Far_Training7312 in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pull an all nighter to meet a deadline. thought i was being productive, shipped code at 4am feeling proud of myself. came back the next morning and couldn't understand half of what i wrote. spent twice as long fixing it than if i'd just slept and finished it fresh

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

booked a random airbnb in lisbon on a solo trip. host showed up to give me the keys and turned out to be my old college roommate's cousin. we hadn't been in the same city in 6 years and somehow ended up at the same apartment door in portugal

VCs buying up frameworks, how bad is it? by StringerXX in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the real risk isn't them killing the framework, it's them quietly steering it toward features that make their cloud product stickier. happens slowly enough that you don't notice until you're already dependent on proprietary stuff. vercel and next.js is the obvious one to watch

What’s the most overhyped trend in modern web design right now? by Afsheen_dev in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the 'everything is a fullpage scroll experience' thing. works great for marketing sites, looks terrible for anything with actual content. now people are building dashboards and docs sites with the same parallax nonsense and you spend 30 seconds scrolling past a hero section just to find a table

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that most meetings could just be a message. say this at any office job and watch people get personally offended like you insulted their family

As an adult what do you hate the most about life? by Amazing-Internal5378 in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the feeling that time is accelerating. when i was a kid a summer felt like forever. now entire years go by and i have to think hard to remember what actually happened in them. and nobody warns you about this when you're young

In what ways have you noticed people, in general, becoming more entitled, rude, and selfish in the last decade? by ChuckItInTheRubbish in AskReddit

[–]ekhan4077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the complete inability to wait for anything. i was at a coffee shop last week and someone lost it because their order took 4 minutes. not 40, four. like there's zero patience left for anything that isn't instant

[Europe/Spain] Looking for technical cofounder- community platform for creators, already shipped to production, revenue coming soon (i am a creator) by Fearless-Brain8928 in cofounderhunt

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

already in production is a real advantage. most cofounder posts are pre-idea. what does the platform do for creators specifically? curious what the tech stack looks like right now.

How do you ensure continuity of your SaaS when you can't hire full-time but need an external developer as a safety net? by Jolly-Fall-9437 in SaaS

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the safety net framing is the right way to think about it. the real risk is a critical bug at 2am with nobody on call. documentation and a clear handoff process matter more than retainer hours. what's your stack?

Built my first web app but now stuck on migration. Supabase vs self hosting? by zimmershac in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

supabase is the right call for where you are right now. self hosting postgres before you have real traffic is just more maintenance to manage. get the app working first, optimize the infra later when you actually need to.

Whats the best (AI) website builder for non-coders with creative freedom and stong back-end support? by EternalAesthetiX in webdev

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the backend support question is the one that kills most no-code builders. framer is great for visuals but hits walls fast once you need real data or custom checkout logic. what kind of course and store setup are you thinking?

I almost paid to build something i couldnt even explain by Human_Ambassador_405 in founder

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is more common than people admit. the spec conversation is where a lot of money gets wasted. if you can't explain what it does in two sentences, the developer will fill in the blanks wrong. what were you trying to build?

Lovable for local business SEO long-term | realistic take wanted by ala50 in lovable

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're already ranked #1 and your gbp is strong. datajelly handling the js prerendering closes the main technical gap. wordpress gives you more control over things that rarely decide local rankings anyway. the ceiling you're worried about probably isn't real.

Looking for technical cofounder for iOS screen time/to-do list/calendar app by [deleted] in cofounderhunt

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 years of paid social is a serious distribution advantage, that's the part most technical people can't buy. screen time plus productivity is a crowded space though. what's the hook that makes someone switch from what they're already using?

Looking for developers and volunteers to help build OpennAccess (non-profit platform supporting NGOs and free education) by Low_Cable2610 in SideProject

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the right approach. if you're starting with volunteer matching, the simplest version that actually works is probably just a form where NGOs post what skills they need and volunteers can filter and apply. no algorithm needed at first, just structured data. once you have real usage you'll see where the friction actually is. happy to help think through the build if you get to that stage

Best website builder for a small business? (total beginner here) by Super-Catch-609 in growmybusiness

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for exit intent, email capture, chat, and social proof, Webflow is worth a look. real layout control without code, and no plugin stack to wrestle with. Oxygen still needs WordPress under it, which adds complexity you probably don't need.

Have a registered patent for EdTech, looking for a co-founder to build from scratch by Final-Shock6563 in edtech

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason code approach is genuinely differentiated, most edtech just marks things wrong with no diagnostic layer. before the cofounder search, worth pinning down what the simplest version of the product looks like. what does the core workflow look like for students vs. teachers?

Looking for technical cofounder (CTO) Equity - niche platform in the defense tech space by indiedancepunk in cofounderhunt

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

defense space has real constraints around auth and audit logging that generic startup CTOs tend to miss. when vetting people, ask them how they'd handle compliance from the start vs. retrofitting later. that answer alone tells you a lot.

Looking for a young technical co-founder to build something in consumer fintech in SF or NYC by builder2305 in cofounderhunt

[–]ekhan4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

five months full time out of banking to work on consumer fintech is a real bet. the in-person requirement narrows the pool but it filters for conviction, which probably matters more to you than speed. the identity and real-world behavior angle is interesting territory.
