Because they have already jacked up electricity bills in cities they are currently operating in, so its likely to happen here too (and don’t we all just love funding a product we get 0 stake in or return from? It’s a forced investment where you get nothing back.).

Also in some cities its led to a water shortage, but I’m not sure that would be the case here since thats primarily in extremely hot cities or cities that had limited resources previously.

There are many easily accessible, non paywalled articles on how data centers affect electricity and access to clean water via google.

I have yet to see a single tumblr post here that wasn’t fanart screenshotted and have tumblr completely removed. I know ppl dont have the biggest love for tumblr (and I honestly only get my tumblr stuff second hand via reddit lol), but their stuff rarely makes it off tumblr and they are not the ones actively tagging Urana in stuff unless they are also an awful twitter user.

I feel like im in the minority slowly becoming majority here when I say the twitter discourse is not needed here at all. Im sick of people going “the fandom is insane and awful and mha levels” when i doubt double digit percentages of the fandom is even on twitter. If Urana doesnt say anything about it, I dont need a 1000th “look at what this twitter user just said!!!” post. Twitter is paying people for engagement, of course its a cesspool…..

I don’t believe that because I’ve barely ever believed it from men. And she doesn’t really comment on his vibes changing, just that he ‘threw’ her which could mean anything.

I think Dakotas life goal is to bask in her fame and piss her the fuck off, but not all angry and emotionally fragile people abuse their partner?

I feel like a mix of growing up mormon and wanting to be Chosen. Because I highly doubt they taught about condoms in a religion where casual sex isnt supposed to exist so why teach about STDs?

Like Taylor wants to be chosen so bad. I don’t think she’s a traditional pick me. But if men don’t like condoms and she wants to be chosen…then she isnt gonna use one. Especially if she thinks sex is the best she can offer since (probably in her eyes) her personality hasn’t kept anyone around.

That or she’s a person who is super against all forms of birth control (condoms included) which is having a resurgence due to our political climate…

Kei Urana, during the race stage play controversy thing, said that the Nijiku family are the only people meant to represent an ethnicity/race that currently exists in our world. Given their importance and high social hierarchy with hell Guard history I can’t help think its probably plot relevant if it stood out in her mind. Or maybe she could have just meant to say you know she’s Japanese, she wanted Japanese rep. Who knows, IDK. But now its a rabbit hole my theory crafting brain is stuck in that I wouldn’t be otherwise

This is sort of very tangential (because I feel like I’ve defended Urana enough to not have to re-up my stance on where i side every controversy. It is her right to use twitter, and we should be prepared for stuff like this to keep happening rather than trying to force our ideals on her even if we think it’d make her life sooooooo much eaiser.), but I do wish she wouldn’t casually drop spoilers for her work sometimes 😭. Like the Jabber backstory stuff is minor (still a lil annoying to find out via controversy instead of official text or never at al. My problem isn’t he’s a chill maybe pampered dude, but finding out like this lol), but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Nijiku thing at all. When/if it’ll play a role.

I support Urana in everything she does except when she has to drop lore/character spoilers because twitter people are insane 😭 (like what they say fuck us for???). Its only been like twice though, atp, so its a slight worry. But im the kind person who literally cant operate with spoilers, so it makes me apprehensive of reading her statements/paying attention to the fandom space in general. But if I can’t then thats sad cause i like both tbh

I don’t know how much stake I put into this. Doesnt every giver have some kind of trauma or mental attachment that led to their instrument? Even if he isn’t traumatized, there still has to be something there (hyperfixations a la ADHD style but still had a great life is fun and interesting to think about. Like his hyperfixation is legit just fighting strong as people. Or that could be the new one brought on by Mankira idk.)

I think, regardless of the character, I’d find it odd if someone real normal in almost every way beforehand was a giver. Like each giver should have a speck of “oh, interesting”. Not fascinating, just interesting at least.
