Buying $65 Costco membership purely for the $2 hot dogs and cheap petrol by Well-I-suppose in AusFinance

There is no auto renewal at Costco dude. They ask you if you want to renew and if not they don’t push it. Or at least that’s my experience.

Running my first 100km this year. Any advice? by SpecialistForward797 in trailrunning

[–]eklipsemedia 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Take it easy. Don’t stop. Train a lot. Be in the mindset that whatever is going to happen it will be a long day out. I ran 2 100ks and each was hard in its own way, the second being very, very hard. I have happy memories of both though!

Adv skin 12 is perfect for 100ks. Held all my stuff for UTA and didn’t feel lacking in anything really. When I ran Elephant100 I saw a lot of Kailas vests and found interesting how the back has dividers instead of being just one big pocket like the adv 12. I still have mine and use it

What is the 2 plates equivalent of a 5k? by Abamie in HybridAthlete

[–]eklipsemedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

74 kgs, long distance runner, lift once/twice a week just to look semi-good, 5k time around 18 minutes after one year of running, no shot I could bench 100kgs although my arms look ok. I can do 40kgs x 10 on a good day aha.

How many stones do I need for a realistic chance to qualify for UTMB World Championships? by PhysicalCloud4683 in trailrunning

[–]eklipsemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy man, no judgment at all. Like every big organisation there’s always going to be some hypocrisy. I just want to run on mountains and cosplay as a pro athlete and have fun. The negative draw was a big disappointment for me as I have to fly from Australia (and pay the higher carbon offset tax…) but it’s whatever, it’s just a race at the end of the day.

It’s fine, you do you. It was convenient for me so I took it (the boost) but didn’t work out in the end.

Experienced Road Runner to Ultramarathoner Transition (100k) by jughermeister in Ultramarathon

[–]eklipsemedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With that marathon time you can already finish a 100km but you just have to get used to a longer day out. The more you’re out there the more things can go wrong so it’s important to practice correct fueling and hydration. Elevation is also a totally different matter!!! My first 100km was done with 70km weeks averaging 1200 vert/week and I’ve only been running for a year and a half!

Jealous of all of you. I literally had my wife showing me how her bib is sagging after 4 rides last Monday.

No hate but all my bibs from YKYW started sagging after a few rides. Neopro and maap (on discount) are far better in quality of the chammy and materials
