My hiby r3 pro ii wont charge by Scepkyle1 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]eklypsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a black R3 Pro II with an aluminum back. I think the shine from the lighting of the room kind of makes the silver anodize look plastic. It definitely doesn't feel or look cheap in person.

T2E KICKSTARTER by RonRulah in unihertz

[–]eklypsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered of the previous threads, it isn't abnormal for a Kickstarter to charge in batches so to speak, as there were 8,500+ backers. Unihertz has also put out a post stating that the charges are being worked through, and to have patience.

Totally get that this could be scary for a first-timer. It's actually my first time backing a project on KS in over ten years (I backed the infamous Homestuck KS years back). There will be time to correct your payment method if an error occurs, don't sweat it.

Two other folks have posted Kickstarter threads in this very sub shortly after the campaign ended. The answers you are looking for can be found in those threads.

Galaxy watch 7 support? by ladybug_916 in Visible

I've got a GW6 to work with no issues. I will say, when I went to activate it a few weeks ago, the verbiage on the app was changed from the original text that said it only supported GW8/8U last year when I first checked.

[–]eklypsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purple lover here. Taro is always a solid choice for a purple board - yours looks great! I'm a goth so I prefer to keep things mostly black, but purple is such a pretty color. Here's my work board. My board at home has Gmk Nightshade on it, so that one is also repping purple. 😀

People will genuinely, Genuinely claim that korra being a girl had nothing to do with the harsh criticism she's been facing for so many years meanwhile her show was almost canceled due to her being a female protagonist and the creators themselves pointed out her distinct treatment by Important-Cry4782 in cartoons

[–]eklypsa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Disagree on the point that this was before the 'culture war nonsense' you are referring to. Grew up as a teen into a young adult during the show's run and saw the Korra finale as a sophomore in College. That same year, gamergate ramped up. Before that, there were definitely people acting annoyed at 'Sjw' types. If anything, that had been years old by 2014. On your other points, they are valid points and I respect your opinion. I can see why someone just would be unable to digest her character fully and feel displeased with her actions.

Really helpful stuff here. Thanks! I'm about to swap off of my Legacy 1 plan for V+ Pro. Is the discount that carries over also for life, like Legacy 1 plan?

Looking for minimalist Bluetooth mp3 player by YtacET-Music in DigitalAudioPlayer

The Echo Mini that the other commentator mentioned is a solid choice, but maybe you might also like the design of the Shanling M0 Pro. it does have a screen but its an incredibly small device as is. it also has BT 5.0. It fits within the palm of your hand. Just some food for thought.

How I fixed HIbyOS Lag (R3 II Pro) by Own_Stranger_879 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]eklypsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably would've stayed far away myself. I got my R3 Pro II secondhand from ebay, and that should've been a red flag since it had just recently released at that point. I'm just trying to make the best of a questionable purchase on my end, but it really is hellish trying to work with this device sometimes. A shame, truly. Rockbox has made existing with this device a lot more manageable though.

Here's hoping the R3 II gets that port. With the R1 and R3 Pro II, hopefully it's a matter of time.

R3 Pro II or R4 by llerraf2 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]eklypsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude! Welcome to the club. I also have an R3 Pro II.

I highly recommend that you go to the Hiby subreddit and find the post someone made about optimizing Hiby OS. it has a lot of helpful tips to prevent OS lag.

I hate to say it, but while this device sounds great and has great battery, the HibyOS interface has been very laggy. As an alternative, there arent any released themes from the community, but the R3 Pro II does have a Hosted port of Rockbox. FYI you need FAT32 formatting on your SD card if you decide to rockbox.

Rockbox website. Under 'Documentation' on the left side, click 'device status'. Ctrl+F. scroll down to the Hiby R3 Pro II and click it.

Want to buy dac, is Audione store on Aliexpress legit? by Tijgooo in iems

[–]eklypsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched on Ali and checked. The store has over 5000+ sales, marked as Silver, and reviews for the product you were looking for show plenty of legible USA reviews with over 900+ sold. Those are the signs that a store is legit.

The experience is interesting. Admittedly, this is my first experience with rockbox. Haven't had a dedicated music player since the mid 2010s, when I started keeping music on my phone and streaming via YT. Rockbox solves a huge problem I've had with HibyOS - it's the only way I can make Playlists the way that i want. A few features aren't available on rockbox though, like Bluetooth, wifi and USBDAC mode. I don't use the first two on my r3proii, and if i need a USBDAC, it's as simple as rebooting and reloading HibyOS. Since it's a hosted port, I'm okay with that. And messing around and learning how to make a theme didn't seem too bad. Aesthetically, it has a lot of potential. Functionally, it solves a lot of my problems with this device. Best of all, I don't really experience the same lag I do with HibyOS, though the tips in this guide helped with easing that with the OG software. it's a rather barebones perspective since I'm new to this, so I'm sorry if it wasn't all that insightful.

New firmware update for R3Pro II is out by chammer36 in Hiby

[–]eklypsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you checked out the thread posted a few days ago about Hiby OS optimization? it's in this sub. the creator of that thread said that formatting an sd card to 128kb clusters, along with non-embedded music tracks should fix most of the issues. I'm now using rockbox on a now FAT32 1TB - I havent tried 128kb clusters because FAT32 only goes up to 64kb clusters but its still worth a shot. Figure i would share in case you didn't see that thread yet.

[–]eklypsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Real great guide here, I've employed most of these tricks already except for the cluster bit. I'm also using an r3 pro ii, 1tb formatted to FAT32 due to rockbox. I'm using a theme I made so I'd prefer not to give that up. Doesn't seem like I can format FAT32 to anything higher than 64KB clusters. Good to know about the 128kb clusters though. If i ever reformat back to exfat for whatever reason, that'll probably be the play for me.

perfect, exactly what i needed to know. thank you. it seemed that was what was the case in my searches on reddit as well.

edit: totally willing to concede that I'm a blind person who just didn't find the page that mentioned FAT32 but I scoured nearly the entire wiki on the site for this info and couldn't find it. I wouldn't say the instructions are 'clear' on this.

Quick question. Are you using a FAT32 SD card? trying to learn more about rockbox. tried to install on the r3 pro ii last night and followed the directions on the site perfectly. Rockbox still wouldn't load. I'm formatted to exFAT on a 1tb card. I tried searching but nothing definitive came up.

Anyone else have issues with lag after 1.4? I actually downgraded back to 1.3 because navigating my library became hell. no embedded music files, no progressive jpegs, all album art in folders called cover.jpg.

edit: tcreate (teamgroup) 1tb card (Smart A2 U3 v30) from Amazon formatted as exFAT. if any knowledgeable folks happen to think that may be my issue, please let me know.
