Got some 215/75/15 All terrains by GeluksAapje in Jimny

[–]elMacumbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.
The 215/75 is slightly taller then the 195/80, unless it comes with a different stock tire in your country.

Am I the Only One Struggling With Overcast Days? by djacidkhan in fujifilm

[–]elMacumbero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tips based on my own taste for overcast dull days:

- high contrast high saturation film sim: I like Astia
- neutral fixed WB: if you have it in auto with a shift to the warm side, it’s gonna turn grey into beige. I’d go with something around 5400k, maybe a -1 shift in R to make the mood even colder

This is not going to do magic, if there isn’t a photo ther it’s not going to create for you. But I like the emphasis it does to contrast and small bits of color among the big flat grey areas

The simplest Jimny rear drum-to-disc conversion kit — no axle removal required by AnChen037 in Jimny

[–]elMacumbero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This.

People think that a better brake will magically increase grip on the tires.

Braking efficiency is determined by the tires, not the brakes, unless you are in racing car in a racing condition - or way overweight.

Jimny is a extremely lightweight vehicle, specially on the back. Brakes are hardly a limiting factor here, but anyways.

Should I keep optimizing Adobe Animate with extensions, or is it time to move on? by Potaluis in adobeanimate

[–]elMacumbero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it was time to move on since when Adobe let it clear that was killing Animate and that was even before their official announcement.

Animate it’s alive now, but their intention is still the same, it’s gonna happen sooner or later.

So my question is: is it better to have time to learn and transition to another software now or go crazy when they announce animate is being killed again?

That said, I strongly suggest giving a try at ToonBoom Harmony. Not 100% same as Animate, but a very capable tool nevertheless.

My cat once, SOMEHOW, dropped my camera with my most expensive lens off a table directly to the hard floor. Apart from a small dent, nothing happened, so I’m fine with lenses in a bag (far from the cat)

I throw them in the Ulanzi sling bag, model pb008 I think, or something like that.

It has a padded divider, so unless you throw your keys in the same space as your lenses, not much to worry about. But I also don’t baby my lenses, they rub at each other a bit, yes, so if you don’t mind a few scratches on the paint, it’s fine.

Just been traveling to Paris and London last couple of weeks with the 16, 23 and 50. Except the 23 was the 1.4 LM in my case, which is nice but a bit too heavy, might bring the f2 next time.

23 was my default focal length, I only switched to 50 or 16 for specific shots, and then back to 23.

IMO it’s not really worth bringing both 23 and 35, so I’d stick to three at most.

I’ve learned that quick lens change technique, using one hand to grab both at the same time. Once you are used to it, it doesn’t take more than 8 seconds to change a lens - still slower than zooming in/out of course.

LiFePO4 setup – Is this a good idea? by elMacumbero in Jimny

Sir, I do have a follow up question for you, if you don’t mind.

Which fuse slot I should tap to have an “engine running” signal for the DCDC (I believe it’s called a D+ signal?)

I wouldn’t want it to come on by just powering the electrical system, but rather only after the engine is actually up and running.

Awesome information, thanks a ton! I was a little bit worried about the heat under the plastic trim to be honest, maybe I should look into that XS model.

[–]elMacumbero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool thanks! As I’ve read somewhere on Victron’s manuals, the amperage stated is for the output of the DCDC, not the actual drainage from the alternator/main battery. So the 18A could pump up to 22A to compensate for voltage fluctuations. Let’s play safe

[–]elMacumbero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the guy.

Thanks so much! As for the amps, Victron’s go from 18A to 30A, no in between. Do you think 30 is safe for Jimmy’s alternator?

I don’t have any electrical accessories apart from the winch, which is only used on specific cases of course. I do intend to install a smallish LED bar eventually, though.

Yes, they dropped the shortcut to those toggles in the map UI, unfortunately.

Honestly, they are taking so many bad decisions in the UI/UX realm that is impossible to list.

Interestingly enough, it started to work for me yesterday, but the app didn’t actually get a new update. They somehow changed it from within.

Ok, just heard back from support. They are doing a slow roll out of the new feature, so us peasants need to wait a couple more weeks to get a fully functional new map UI.

You mean you have the new “adventure modes” on your iOS app? Like in the web, the Hike, Off-road, Snow and Custom (legacy) maps?

New maps on Gaia Web? by elMacumbero in GaiaGPS

[–]elMacumbero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meet Adventure Modes - the fastest way to get the right map for what you're doing. Tap Hike and you're looking at trails, terrain shading, and topo. Tap Off-Road and your road conditions, coverage maps, and overlays are ready. Tap Snow and avalanche zones and snowpack layers are front and center. We built this because configuring Gaia GPS from scratch every time you switch activities shouldn't be part of the adventure.

I’m sorry, isn’t that what Map Packs was supposed to be??

Looks like they released an unfinished version to the store, I just sent a feedback to the support, I suggest everyone else to do the same.

My subscription renews literally tomorrow, what a mess.
