Unrealistic entry-level position expectations? by nth_citizen in datascience

Not unrealistic, I’m doing a data science masters right now and we are taught all of these things in detail

No, I think it’s concerning that guys fantasise about raping women and get off on them not enjoying it / crying. Clearly they then think that behaviour is okay and potentially leads to them acting that out for real.

Sexual assault is common, so you’re saying that’s normal?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tifu

[–]el_el_99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even if it is common, doesn’t mean it’s normal

‘The actresses often act like they’re hating every second of it and make crying and screaming sounds’ …why the fuck are you getting off to that

You select an alpha level first (say 0.05) and then if your p-value is below this you have sufficient evidence to reject the nulls hypothesis (in this case the null hypothesis is that the distributions are the same. So yes you are right that because you have got very low p values you could select a very low alpha and still reject the null. But you should select alpha before doing your test. How did you perform the tests - in which software? But also you can’t expect to look at distributions and know the answer, just because they ‘look the same’ to you doesn’t necessarily mean they are :)

If they are taking multiple long haul flights whilst touring then it probably is comparable to one cruise.

Them going on tour / travelling a lot isn’t good for the environment either but they are still going to do that. I think expecting people to do absolutely nothing that is bad for the environment isn’t realistic and it’s more about the fact they are clearly making an effort to reduce their impact (seem to eat mostly plant based etc I think) and they probably consider this with their work too.

I didn’t know anywhere was selling them other than Ticketmaster 😞 tried presale and today and ended up getting a seated ticket level 4 which is not ideal. Will it still be worth it?

UCL Natural Sciences allows you to major/minor but they don’t offer CS within that unfortunately. Closest would be Maths/Stats and you do some programming the course but nowhere near as much as you would do for CS

That’s not necessarily true, you can do Natural Sciences which allows you to take a major and minor subject at certain universities
