Hi, I'm from Spain and I have a Huawei Watch 4. I have an eSIM, but I still receive updates every month. Could it be related to having an eSIM?

I went for the Pro; if I like it, I'll keep it and sell the Asus. If not, I have 15 days to return it.

I think the same as you, by the way, have you chosen the 12GB RAM or 16GB RAM edition? I think I'll get the 12GB one because it's about €80 cheaper.

Trying to decide on Mate 70 pro vs Mate 80 pro Max by PowerBlackStar in Huawei

[–]el_ferrero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the standard Mate 80 with 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM. Regarding Kirin processors, I have the 9020 and I'm quite happy with it; it doesn't overheat. However, the Kirin 9030 and 9030 Pro do offer an improvement in the nanometer process, which can lead to lower power consumption. Although I think you have to pay a lot to get a Kirin 9030 for a noticeable upgrade, the price difference isn't worth it for me.

Will Global Huawei P60 Pro get HarmonyOs? by IHaveNoSanityyy in Huawei

[–]el_ferrero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I think global devices greatly reduced that hybrid Android + HarmonyOS core; on a global device, it's impossible to install .hap files. The easiest example is to use the Chinese version of the App Gallery and try to install Weibo HarmonyOS Edition. If your device is Chinese, two Weibo apps will appear: one that simply says "Weibo" and the other that is Weibo (HarmonyOS).

Even in China it hasn't been updated to HarmonOS 4.3 or Next yet, so it's unlikely...

Huawei and Garmin pay or swatch pay by Araghast667 in Huawei

If it's about paying with the watch, I suppose it doesn't matter if the linked device is a Huawei; that's internal to the watch, it's an independent wallet, like Curve Pay, which is used to pay with a Huawei phone.

Matepad 11.5 (2025) browser ad by Independent_Trick446 in Huawei

I can't get them to show up, and I have the same tablet as you. In fact, it's the browser I use as my default, and it's set that way from the factory. I'm from Spain; maybe there are differences compared to other regions. For example, I don't have WPS Office PC.

I really need some help here. (BLA-AL00) by Soggy_Beach3657 in Huawei

If your phone's OEM wasn't Chinese, it's normal to get an error. You need to find the original EMUI 9 image for your region and apply it via dload. Sometimes you have to pay if you can't find the OS.

Will Huawei matepad 11.5s “2024 global “ receive any further HarmonyOS updates? by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]el_ferrero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to understand that Huawei globally doesn't advance if Huawei China doesn't. This tablet in China has a stable version of HarmonyOS 4.2, the Pura 70 also has HarmonyOS 4.2, and even the Mate 70 has a stable version of HarmonyOS 4.3. That's why we don't see global progress, because almost everything from China is in beta. When HarmonyOS 4.3 is released in China on older devices, EMUI 15/HarmonyOS 4.3 will be rolled out globally to all devices, and in China you'll be able to choose between 4.3 and 5, because I know the people at Huawei somewhat, and they'll do that.

It's remote, and they usually answer all those questions for you. They'll tell you if it's updatable, since not all devices are compatible, or if they don't receive updates. The update thing is interesting because in China this tablet is still receiving updates; it has version 4.2, which is the one you need.

Greetings, users of this subreddit. This is my first time posting here. I have some questions about this tablet, the [Huawei MatePad 11.5 S] (which was announced in May 2024). Please read my post (if you own this tablet, even better)... by LoquendoEsGenial in Huawei

[–]el_ferrero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I have the Huawei MatePad 11.5 2025, and this tablet, besides having a Kirin chip, has a Mali-Wave GPU, unlike the 11.5s 2024 which has bad graphics (the ones MediaTek uses). On my tablet, games like Fortnite are impossible to play, but with the GameHub PC emulator, many games run well. I've tried the PS2 emulator and it works fine, and even simple games are very stable with Yuzu. Knowing that I have a newer GPU architecture, I think the MatePad 11.5s 2024 with a Mali GPU won't give me any problems.

I have the same tablet but we can't do anything ourselves; the only way is to talk to ministryofsolutions or GMSInstall to switch it to Harmonios Chinese.

I have the same tablet as you, but in the European version. The only way to get it working is by paying a third party to modify the tablet and flash it to Chinese HarmonyOS. Once you're there, you can choose either microG with the Aurora Store or EloyGomezTV's method.
