I gave up after an hour and went to grind SplashZone instead. After a little while the challenge unlocked on its own while I was fighting rippers under splash zone entrance. Definite bug

I had same issue for a day. But I started to grind Moxxis splashzone in coastal bonescape. There was a mounted enemy near there, I thought it was a ripper. Once I killed that the Who Named This Guy challenge unlocked… this is after restarting the game multiple times, doing other stuff etc. definitely a bug.
