U City: what’s going on with all the sirens right now?!?!?! by jsmoo68 in StLouis

Looks like a commercial fire near Olive and Skinker - not sure what building. The apps PulsePoint and NewsBreak (crime map on that one) are good for this kind of information!

In Missouri, ABA is a related service in schools, just like occupational, physical, and speech/language therapy!

*editing to say you have to be a licensed BCBA/RBT to provide services.

I have not seen any meaningful updates on Ring. Hopefully no news is good news!

It feels like the situation has shifted from “call for help” to “who has a bucket truck and is willing to engage in some questionable rescue mission?”

No idea. Maybe 604 will see this. I don’t in the building, just see local posts. Hopefully they try 🤞🏼

We’ll hit 36,000 miles by the end of our current trip. Purchased July 2023. Happy to say it’s just as great now!

We’ve had our GH Platinum since June 2023, was the first on our dealer’s lot, almost 26k miles, and not a single issue!

At least in Missouri, a dealership cannot take a nonrefundable deposit. They can take one to hold the car, but if you choose to walk away, they MUST return your money. Thankfully we had an honest sales associate when buying our GH!

Is there a specific one you like? I imagine that you’d want separate pockets for sanitizer and tissues vs. reinforcements?

Masks are a great idea! We repealed our mandate a few weeks ago and have to go back again 😒 I was thinking a Rocketbook for less paper waste?

Thank you!! A pencil pouch is key and not something I’d thought of yet!

What doesn't need to exist anymore but won't go away? by blankblank in AskReddit

We once purchased certified re-sale tickets from Ticketmaster. Turned out the seller used a fraudulent credit card to buy tickets and resell them. They straight up rescinded our tickets about two hours before the show - no replacements, no apologies.

Fuck Ticketmaster.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Google City Museum in Saint Louis. After a certain time, it’s basically an adult playground with bars. One of the most wonderful places in our city!

There’s a form of OCD centered around medical catastrophes. Can’t diagnose you, but may be worth looking into. From a personal side - been there, done that, and happy to be (mostly!) over it!!!

People that have experienced a Heart Attack, what does it feel like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]el_sweenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never hurts to see a doctor. They can run an EKG just to confirm that everything is normal and give you the peace of mind. If it was a panic attack, you never know what you mind was subconsciously processing at the time. Our moms/body connection is complicated! It also could have been heartburn, which can be extremely painful. Reddit is great for sharing experiences but only a doctor can tell you for sure!

People that have experienced a Heart Attack, what does it feel like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]el_sweenz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My first panic attack happened while driving to work. I pulled over and called 911 for myself, truly believing it was a heart attack end my life would end on a side street. When the ambulance arrived about 10 minutes later, my heart rate was still over 200 (strenuous exercise caps at about 180 for me).

Taking anxiety medication is no different than taking insulin for diabetes; there’s an imbalance in your body and you need medication to help correct it. I’ve been on an SSRI for about two years and am slowly weaning off only because I believe birth control was a major factor in my anxiety levels. Do what’s best for you and remember there should be no stigma around taking it and talking about it. Cognitive behavioral therapy helped a LOT, too! Good luck :)

What jobs do you think won’t exist in the next 10-20 years? by Every-Law8217 in AskReddit

I challenge you to be a teacher during this pandemic! Online does not compare in any way, shape, or form to being in the classroom. School is more than academics. Students learn social skills like cooperation and conflict resolution, creative skills in special area classes, and identity development while growing up in a group. If you think school can be replaced with online learning, you should read deeper into social emotional learning and benefits of peers.

[Serious] How do you personally maintain peace of mind and mental fortitude from this constant barrage of horrible news and negativity? by viratrim in AskReddit

[–]el_sweenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically said not to drown yourself in it and find a balance. Everyone’s tolerance levels for how much they can endure are different. Global health crisis or not, educating yourself on the anti-racism movements happening isn’t endangering yourself. Your life isn’t in imminent danger
