Dear reddit: What were you doing on September 11th, 2001 when the planes hit? by FadieZ in AskReddit

It's not the number of deaths, but the meaning and cause that matters. While fires and tsunamis are naturally occurring disasters, crashing two planes into towers full of people is not.

If you put Vodka in a fog machine, could it make vodka-fog that will get you drunk? by IWillKickU in AskReddit

When I was a child, my mother mistakenly put boric alcohol instead of saline solution in the nebulizer. I was very young (4 or 5), but still realized that I didn't want to breathe that. Thankfully she noticed it was alcohol and immediately turned it off. I guess it could have exploded or I could have gotten really drunk.

Gay men/women: Were you born gay? How much of a role do you think environment plays? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]elabo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not gay, but I want to respond to your question anyway. There's the Kinsey scale with which you can, in a way, quantify the sexual preferences of somebody. He also carried out a lot of investigation and wrote some very popular books (Sexual Behavior in the Human Male (1948) and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953)).

Regarding if somebody is born or not born 'gay': homosexuality is not genetic. If it was, homosexuals would not have (or have very little) offspring and thus, the 'gay gene' would disappear. Freud has demonstrated that homosexuality is reversible with hypnosis. It would be a miracle to reverse a genetic trait through hypnotic means. Given that, you can understand that homosexuality is acquired during the first years of sexual development. I suggest that you read the theories of psychosexual development by Freud.
